Review summary

I will not travel with holland cruises again The cruise was boring. The music was not appropriately to dance. You went through the lounges and it was silence what you hear. It felt like a hospice for old people. We stay most of the time in the cabin watching some movies on TV. The food was tasteless all over except on the galas and in the canaletto.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

We took several our teens on several Holland Caribbean cruises and they loved them all. I've cruised seven times on Holland and have enjoyed cruising with families, older folks, middle agers, etc. it's our cruise line of choice. We've not been on the Oosterdam, but I'm looking forward to it! And the food is fabulous

Went on Ooster dam recently and absolutely loved it. We are older and appreciated the less hectic pace. If you wanted Rock and Blues., why didn't you go to BB Kings? Authentic music and absolutely amazing. In future if you can, read up on the different Cruise Lines.

I'm a NCL cruiser but I did take Holland for an Alaskan cruise. Although it is an older crowd, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and still found plenty of fun on the boat! It's all in how you choose to handle your vacation. You have the ability to make it great, or miserable.

Apology accepted. Happy cruising to you and yours.

I apologize too. Sometimes I get wound up a bit. But agree with you 110% about how some seem to do zero research and then want to blame everything else for their woes instead of taking even a little personal responsibility. I just can't imagine paying my hard earned cash on anything without doing my homework first.

Loved Holland America for Alaska but wouldn't do it for a Caribbean cruise. It is very quiet, and for older people. If you want total relaxation, it is a good one.

Sorry, tntfl, didn't mean to offend. I'm just a purist when it comes to cruising. First, I'm a long way from being in the scooter patrol. Second, I'm just amazed at some of the comments on this forum, showing the lack of research that has been done by folks prior to booking a cruise. Things I've seen here: flying in to the wrong airport for a cruise; not knowing where your ship is going. A little bit of research would avoid many of the unpleasant experiences that these cruisers had. Yes, I love Holland America Line, but I've also cruised on Carnival and I've enjoyed those as well. When people in my community ask me what cruise they should go on, I always say I have no clue, unless you tell me first what you expect from your cruise experience.

Holland America Line (it's not holland cruises) caters to a more mature crowd. It's wonderful to not have rock music blaring all over the ship. If you are looking for the type of things that Holland America Line lacks, then you should probably be on Carnival or NCL. There are cruises out there for every age group and for all interests, but you must do your homework. Sounds like you didn't do yours. Oh, and don't book a cruise with Cunard Line. They are just as boring as Holland America Line, and I love them both.

If you're looking for night life, best you don't book Holland.
