Review summary

We went on this same cruise about 5 years ago. Although we had fun, the quality of the food, friendliness of the staff, and cleanliness of the ship has gone down. We did not feel special on this trip, like we did the last time. Everything was nice, but was not special experience for us the second time around.

Food and Dining

Good variety, but we've tasted better on other ships and also on this ship 5 years ago. Quality of deserts was not so great. Hated the Chocolate Extravaganza.

Entertainment

Good onboard activities, but poor scheduling. Several activities overlapped and we couldn't do everything we wanted.

Service and Staff

Ok, but have had better service on other ships. They were friendly, but did not go out of their way to make you feel important. On this same ship 5 years ago, we were treated much better, addressed by name, and really got to know the staff.

Ship Quality

Some of the bathrooms outside of the theater were not working during most of the cruise. Overall cleanliness was good. The ship is starting to show age.

Cabin / Stateroom

Nice room on the Varandah deck. Starboard side had excellent viewing for the glacier.

Pros: Sea Otter and Wildlife Boat Tour

Cons: quality of the food has gone down in the last 5 years
