Has anybody disembarked in Rome? I found a bus that goes from the port to downtown Rome, but it leaves only at 9:30 AM. I was wondering if this disembarkation would allow me to catch this bus into the city? Is customs fairly easy or a drawn out process?

We found disembarkation very efficient as was customs. We had a car take us to Rome, and we reached out and told him to come about 45 minutes earlier than we anticipated.

you can take a 20E cab to civitavecchia then a train to Rome (inexpensive).  quite nice
