Review summary

This was our first transatlantic cruise and we were worried about the number of days at sea, but the ship has tons of entertainment options, the time really went by fast. We really only had one day of rough weather that made walking around a bit difficult. My wife has gotten sea sick before and we were concerned that she may get sick again, but the ship is very large and with the stabilizers we did not skip a beat!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The specialty restaurants on the ship were great. Really liked Chops Grille and Giovannis were my favorites.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The fitness center was well stocked with the latest gym equipment.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Schooner Bar was one of our favorite hangouts. Love the piano player James W. and the classical guitar player.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters and room stewards were very friendly and always available to help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Odyssey of the Seas is a very well maintained ship. Still looks new.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was well very comfortable. The large balcony was a nice addition. We enjoyed sitting outside watching as we sailed along. The room steward got to know our habits and would have our cabin cleaned while we were gone.

Ship tip

I think that the specialty restaurants are a plus on the Odyssey. Chops and Giovannis were our favorites.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

We did the Crypt tour and thought it was fascinating. We also enjoyed the Twilight of Travestore dinner tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
The Tapas tour was a great way to walk the streets of Barcelona Spain and enjoy small bites along the way.

Valencia, Spain Did not visit port

The recent floods kept us from the port of call.

Cartagena, Spain

We walked the port area and enjoyed the small shops and views.

Funchal, Madeira

The topology of the city made for some spectacular views. The wine tasting was a bit short.

This was our second transatlantic crossing, and it was just as good as the 1st one we took in October of 2023. This was the 1st ship I have been on that had tepanyki, and I absolutely loved it. Chops is always phenomenal, and my wife and I like wonderland, I know some people are not fans of wonderland but it's about the experience, and I love the lobster caviar.

We were on the same ship and enjoyed the food and entertainment immensely! The ICONIC band was phenomenal, as was the Orchestra and the various quintets that performed throughout the cruise. Odyssey has all the right stuff!
