Review summary

We so enjoy our transatlantic journey's! Though we rarely get off at ports anymore, the staff and crew on board make us feel so at home!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was well executed. No long wait. Lots of directors. Friendly staff.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Loads of good selections. Food was never cold or dried out. At times, soups and salad dressings seemed watered down. Overall, very good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Trivia seemed to be the most popular activity on the crossing, but we would have liked to have had more enrichment programs.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
This was our second journey with the Odyssey. We were spoiled on the first crossing as there was always music going on somewhere. Not so much on this crossing. The shows were okay. The headliners were excellent. The Book was excellent. We would have loved to have seen more "enrichment" programs on these long trips. The art classes were gone by the time we found out about them, so we were relegated to Trivia for something to do most days.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
For our 11-year-old grandson, there never was quite enough going on in the kids program. He did manage to occupy himself in the Seaplex.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No one tops RCCL when it comes to staff. We met up with old friends, met new ones, and can only say how wonderful they all were. And we LOVE the Captain of this ship. He was a hoot!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship! Beautifully done!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was lovely and had everything we needed to keep the 3 of us comfortable.

Ship tip

If you have children under the age of 16, I might advise against taking the kids to see The Effectors show. The dancers were a little too "twerky" for my taste for children. The last time we saw the show it was more "child-friendly." This time it was almost burlesque.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We love staying in this port before our cruises.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

3 out of 5
Typical port. Shops. Expensive eating. Did not do an excision this time.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
Do NOT like flying in or out of this place, especially with Delta.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Went very smoothly.
