Review summary

The Star Staff on Odyssey: Playmakers - Sorina was really kind & caring while also efficient; Eldio has a really fun personality and was fun to talk to Giovanni’s - Davor & Krasimire were both fantastic in every way; Marlon remembered us from the 1st night even though he wasn’t our waiter until our 2nd visit & was so warm & welcoming. He even got my husband ice cream even though it was not on menu which was very unexpected and kind! Giovanni Wine Bar ~ Thomas was an attentive waiter Diamond Club - Sagho (friendly and helpful with dinner reservations) Windjammer- Abhi (always attentive & welcoming; made us feel like a special member of his family) MDR - Yudi & Ashish (excellent at handling the entitled old people who treated them like servants with grace & kindness) Salon - Jelly did an amazing job with my hair & had a pleasant personality. Guest services - Adrian Dominguez & Stacey with guest services - helped approve us disembarking in La Spezia

Super easy and straight forward.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The MDR dining areas not in the main center 3 story area looked like overflow areas at a convention center or assisted living place. Not appealing at all. At least our wait staff was impeccable. We are at Giovanni’s & G wine bar multiple times with outstanding food & service! The food was exceptional in all venues, even the buffet.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Definitely pay to do the virtual reality. It was a very cool experience .

Entertainment

We don’t go to the shows.

Children's Programs

We do not have kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every single staff person we met on the cruise did an exceptional job of making us feel like valued guests!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Such a beautiful ship & meticulously maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The mattress is a bit harder than it should be, but the linens are good. The cabin layout is perfect with plenty of storage & a good size shower with shave bar and automatic night light in the bathroom. The trash can in the bathroom is way too compact to hold women’s “essentials” you can not put in the toilet.

Ship tip

Don’t forget about food at Giovanni’s Wine Bar. It is exceptional & offers a variety of excellent food with a low cost. Also Playmakers S’mores cookie … our favorite thing on the ship!

Diverted for a medical emergency

Malaga, Spain

Malaga itself is an incredible city, but we took an excursion to the Alhambra from here that was a life goal. I love Malaga as a port.

Cartagena, Spain

We disembarked in La Spezia.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were allowed to disembark a day early in La Spezia as we wanted to spend several days in Cinque Terre, Florence, & Venice. We were so glad we did not have to go to Rome only to go back to La Spezia by train that day.
