Not a good vibe cruise. Bad ship “flow”. Crowded. Many crew and passengers were rude.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Rough going from the start. Slow in organized process. A sign of things to come.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Except for Teppanyaki, the specialty restaurants were stuffed in on the 4th and 5th floors. The positioning almost looks like they were an afterthought. Bad.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There were some things to do but if you want a real ride on the Northstar or in the ifly simulator it will cost you. In addition, zone zero was not operating. Lines are long. Not a great experience.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Not many shows. Very crowded.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Again hit and miss. The pool was overcrowded and pool lifeguards are rude. People save chairs for hours. Again, not the same Royal Caribbean we remember.
Ship Quality

Clean enough I suppose. But the design is awful. Shops are broken up in different areas. Two small pools on main deck very crowded. Already described the “specialty restaurants”. We won’t be back on the Odyssey of the Seas.
Cabin / Stateroom

Room attendant kept room clean. A balcony. It was fine.
We love Aruba. But our Royal Caribbean shore excursion was awful. We did the barbecue lunch snorkeling. Very crowded boat. The expectation was you were to eat barbecue chicken and ribs elbow to elbow with others on the small boat. Really bad idea.
We again booked a Royal Caribbean shore excursion. Curaçao tour and Mambo beach. It was better then the prior experience but we believe you can find better on the island.
As I write this I’m sitting on the Odyssey of the Seas. I can honestly say how disembarkation will go. But if the last week is any indication we don’t expect much.
Thanks for the review. We’ve always had a great experience with Royal Caribbean. Good to see complaints about chair hogs, that means cruising is getting back to normal.
Sorry you had a bad cruise. Gary, one of the YouTube bloggers, says you usually pick the wrong ship or
the wrong line. We have had good luck with carnival and princess.
