Review summary

We had a fantastic cruise on board Oceana. Please see individual sections. It’s such a shame that P&O have retired Oceana as she was a beautiful ship and she wasn’t even showing her age.

Embarkation

Efficient, priority embarkation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was delicious and well presented, it was consistent throughout the different venues throughout our cruise. The buffet was rather clean and the food was great for a buffet. Cafe Jardín was amazing, the food was impeccable.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed all of the activities on our cruise to the canaries. We loved the back pain solutions talk, very useful. We enjoyed the syndicate quiz in the Yacht and Compass as there was a great atmosphere in the venue. We took part in a deck quoits competition on the promenade deck which was great fun. We managed to use the sun deck a few times and it was never overcrowded, it was rather relaxed. The entertainment team put on a great sail away around the pool!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was rather good, the headliners put on a fantastic show in the Footlights Theatre. There were some great musicians on our cruise!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We could not fault the staff at all. They were all pleasant and helpful. Our cabin steward was friendly and she couldn’t do enough for us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Oceana was a marvellous ship with elegant features. Oceana was extremely clean and spacious, she never felt overcrowded even at full capacity.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Mini Suite. Lovely mini suite, it was spacious and comfortable with an element of luxury (especially in the bathroom). The balcony was narrow however it was double fronted so it didn’t bother us.

Ship tip

It’s such a shame that Oceana has left the P&O fleet, she was a lovely little ship ❤️

We ssiled on Oceana 3 times mini break to Bruge, then a very wet Mediterranean cruise and beautiful Dubai. She grew on me the more we travelled on her.

Dengage, we were also due to sail next May (22nd to Spain & Portugal). We’ve not rebooked yet however we are looking at options with the FCC

We sailed on her twice and was due to go on her next May with the family now going on Iona but will still enjoy the cruise.
