This was our first cruise, and we now plan on scheduling many. We had some trepidation about sea sickness and slow elevators, but both were not a concern. There was so much to do on the ship, we couldn't wait to come back from shore excursions. We go to a lot of restaurants where we live, so we didn't feel like we needed to enjoy the premium dining. We always found something good on the Main Dining menu. We actually enjoyed following the nightly dress themes.

Aqua 80 is still a thrill. The performers in Cats were magnificent, but the play is not for everyone. One sky was refreshing and had a good mix of music, dance and acrobatics.

We were greeted by every member of the staff we came into contact with and they were always helpful.
Ship Quality

Beautiful, well designed ship. There are some signs of age (carpets a little worn in places), but the ship still dazzles and was very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

We were surprised at how functional the cabin was for a cruise ship. We were able to find a place for everything without having it in our way each day.
We actually came in early and stayed a day late, so we were able to see a lot of this magnificent city. The port is very close to downtown which made boarding and disembarkation easier. There is lots to see in Barcelona, particularly if you like architecture.
We experienced a tour of the local towns which we feel was the right choice. We truly got our best flavor of Italy from these small towns which have history, great views of the Mediterranean and great food.
This was our weakest port because it is far from Rome and we were disappointed a bit with the cleanliness of Rome and the congestion. Perhaps we had unrealistic romantic, no pun intended, aspirations for this incredibly important city. It was difficult to visit many of the sites and there is a clear lack of restroom facilities throughout the city. If we cruise through here again, we would avoid the Rome excursion and see the countryside. We think a multiple day trip to Rome would be needed to see all the sites, but that means more bathroom issues and spending more time in crowds.
Great pizza! The port is so close to downtown that we were able to explore the city on our own in the morning and then take a tour of Herculaneum in the afternoon. We would recommend visiting Herculaneum for a peak back at 79 AD.
