Review summary

Amazing Cruise!! So sad to have to leave after one week and now have B2B on our bucket list. Watch videos of the ship, ports etc. when deciding where, when, and what ship to go on. Loved this ship and would recommend it to anyone. Ship and staff met our expectations. Met great people during the week. Could not have asked for a better Anniversary Celebration.

Embarkation

We had an 11:30 check in. Arrived to port at 10:00 and figured we would wait till our time. Staff was very friendly when helping to park our car and hand off our luggage. We were able to check in early as it was not busy at that point in time and as we approached the staff just waved us in to do the check in stuff. On the ship by 10:30!! Very easy and organized. We had done all of the online check and wellness check ahead, had all of our paperwork in hand, checked into our Muster station right away and then we were able to walk the ship till our room was ready!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Buffet was great. Wish there were a few more international sections but what was there was wonderful!! Busy at certain times of the day but that is expected. MDR was Amazing!! Food was amazing and our two waiters were fabulous. Very friendly, efficient, and even served my husband coffee when they saw him in the buffet and his hands were full!! The waiter "yelled" out Hello to him and said, "Where are you sitting? I will bring your coffee to you" And he did!! Above and beyond what is required!!!! Only suggestion is that some of the Bar drinks be a bit stronger. Some places they were great others felt a bit watered down. MDR food was spectacular and a couple fo times my husband got two entrees to try!! We also Ate at a few of the other complimentary cafes on board and those were great too for snacks and smaller meals. Loved sitting in the promenade sipping on my tea and meeting new people.

Onboard Activities

Hot tubs were great. Could have been slightly warmer. Watched some of the Sports Area events and they looked fun. Hunting for Ducks is a blast!!! This is not sponsored by Royal but so much fun to participate in. Watched the Flo Rider and people seemed to be having fun!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were fabulous!! Saw Aqua Theatre, Ice Skating, and One Sky. Did not really enjoy One Sky but that is just a personal preference. Performance was great just not my style. There were open seats at the later shows from people not showing up so that allowed those who were on the wait list to have a seat. It is probably like this at the earlier shows as well.

Service and Staff

Room Steward was amazing. Towel Animal each day. He was super friendly and efficient and had our room back to looking amazing daily. Waiters were fabulous. Quick to remember names and what drinks we like etc. Fast service with a smile!!!

Ship Quality

Oasis is an "Older" ship but seemed to be very well maintained and clean. Saw staff cleaning areas during the day to keep up with everything. Saw some people post negatives about this in other groups but we did not find that to be accurate. We found the ship to be very clean and well maintained. Do not always believe the negatives you read online. Really do the research ahead.

Cabin / Stateroom

Perfect for two people would have been accommodating for 3! Room was clean upon arrival and having a balcony was great! Loved going out and enjoying watching the water as well as taking pictures when we arrived at port, the sunrise, and sunset!!! Bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage for our belongings.

Ship tip

Please do the research and do not take one person's opinion. Nothing is perfect all the time but it seems like there are lots of complainers about everything. Look things up yourself and ask questions in different groups. I do not know how anyone can say the food is not up to par or that the pool is always crowded (the pools are crowded on every ship) or that it was too overwhelming with the number of people. I did not find that to be the case as the ship is huge and there are so many places to go!! We did not feel like we were constantly overwhelmed by people at all!!! Do your research ahead and make sure you pick a ship that fits your personality and desires for a vacation. Try to check in early and spend day 1 exploring the ship.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

We drove to port but did not really explore it though I am sure there is a lot to do if you research it ahead.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Did a Pontoon Lagoon excursion here and loved it!! Very relaxing and awesome to see some dolphins and other animals as well has the homes etc.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

LOVED IT!! If you like the Beach and the Sun this is the place to be. There is also a HUGE pool. If you want a chair by the pool get there early. There seemed to be plenty of chairs at the Beach as it is a large area (even though there were two Royal Ships in port at the same time). You do not have to spend money here unless you want to!! There is a buffet for food and water etc.

Nassau, Bahamas

We walked around close to the ship and visited the shops and Straw Market. Yes, some of the people can be "Pushy" but just say no thank you and keep walking. There is a lot of other options so hop on YouTube and look up Nassau to see what other things there are to do.

Carried our own luggage off. Aside from a bit of congestion in the elevators because now there were suitcases and carry ons involved we were off of the ship very quickly. Never carried our luggage off before so we wanted to try it to see what it was like and it was fine for us. Maybe not the best option if you will struggle to carry your suitcases or have small children.
