I found out that large boat, family style cruising is not for me. However I may look to other avenues for a cruising experience.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Smooth, no hassle.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We loved the food, and the different themes in the main dining halls. The buffet had some good food and an eclectic variety to choose from. never disappointed with the food we ate. I personally did not choose to go to any of the specialty restaurants. But i know people who did, and they had nothing but good things to say.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We spent a good amount of time by the pool, sunning. We spent a small amount of time in the spa and fitness center, I participated in some seminars, a stretching class(after a bad night of sleep), and a steam room(after I caught some bug from someone who skipped "washy-washy". We really liked the trivia activities(when we could get space in the venue).
Entertainment
5 out of 5
LOVED Giles Edmunds, saw and hung out multiple times. Aqua 80 was incredible, Frozen in time was incredible, The Long Run was very entertaining, and your magician(whose name escapes me, sorry. Josh Edwards, maybe?) was super enjoyable.
Children's Programs
We dont have children, and tend to avoid them in large numbers.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The personal touch from your staff is incredible. 12/10
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
maps everywhere, plenty of different venues to visit, well laid out.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The bed is terrible, made slightly better by the mattress topper added later. couldn't sleep more than a few hours without my whole body being sore. The shower is a coffin, and i kept hitting my head on the soap holder tray while trying to wash my feet. otherwise, the room was clean and well taken care of, and your tv service is pretty good. thumbs up there.
Ship tip
Camp out early for any activities that don't require a reservation.
ok, so a bit of a mixed bag here. we got in at 11 am, and had an excursion at 245pm. So we walk for 15 minutes just to get out onto the streets, but, part of the walkways were covered(super hot out, the shade was a blessing). Once we got out to the street, we were shouted at in a salesman sense by people standing out in front of their shops trying to hard sell us everything they could. the two shops we bought something at were quick(ish) and easy. So, we killed some time before our excursion, and headed back to the boat to find our gathering spot. which was a mystery to not only us, but seemingly to our RC "friends" who were supposed to be our guides in this department. Honestly, it felt like it was your "first time" running this show, which was a discomfort. Eventually, once we hooked up with our group, everything went quite smooth. loved the glass bottom boat and the bus tour. our guide on the bus was excellent. Carl was his name, and we loved him.
This boat is overcrowded, and way to "peopley" except for this day. plenty of room at the pool, plenty of seating at the buffet, trivia activities were accessible. all those people getting off the boat made my boat experience better.
