Food and Dining
Bionic Bar®by Mark Shakr
On my last cruise, this was my favorite place to get drinks. I’m convinced they’ve watered down some of the bottles. They just didn’t taste very good… it’s fun to try though if you’ve never experienced it before.
Coastal Kitchen
We ate here most nights. The food and the service was beyond excellent. Our food always came out quickly and they were very accommodating. This was also our first time eating here on a cruise as we had a junior suite. With this suite, while you don’t have access to the suite lounge or the coastal kitchen for breakfast or lunch, you can absolutely go for dinner. It’s on a first come, first serve basis but we never had any issues getting a table. I would recommend going right up on day one to let them know what times you’d like to come to dinner during the week. The set up was also very spacious if you are like us and have covid concerns. We felt comfortable eating in there.
El Loco Fresh℠
We ate here on embarkation day. This was honestly the one day we felt we could get our hands on it. The line was LONG. And the thought of everyone sneezing and coughing over the open nacho cheese and sour cream was too much to bear. I did appreciate the hand washing stations all around this area but no one appeared to be using them. If you don’t eat here you aren’t missing anything either. We felt the food was a little dry and flavorless.
Schooner Bar
The absolute best drinks! These bartenders know what they’re doing. They also offer some unique flavors like lavender and mango habanero daiquiris. The lavender being my favorite. There was also a very talented piano player here and it was a nice spot to people watch.
Candy Beach
Candy prices actually weren’t too bad. Two hefty bags of gummies cost us about $14. Very odd system to get the candy out though. We needed an attendant to help get them out as the machines were jammed and we saw some people sticking their hands in to the machines. Again, a nice hand washing station in there gone un-used. But the candy wasn’t bad… and whoops this review was meant for “sugar beach”.
Izumi Hibachi & Sushi
Hard to mess up hibachi, it was pretty good. Food was well seasoned but don’t expect anything exceptional.
Chop's Grille
The worst meal we had on board…. Save your money. We got the chops + 1 package and I felt that this restaurant was ridiculously over sold and over hyped. The appetizers started off strong. The tuna tartare was very fresh and the crab cake was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The filet mignon was ridiculously sinewy, to the point where I felt like I had to force myself to swallow it like a pill. The chicken was also underwhelming. Then we got the Mac and cheese and truffle fries. Both were flavorless and definitely not “share” size as our waiter stated. We also waited 2 hours to get through our meal, the service was extremely slow although I believe this is because they over book the restaurant and not the fault of the staff. I also observed that we weren’t the only ones who didn’t enjoy our meals. There were a lot of steaks left on the tables.
Café Promenade
Selection was slim compared to what I’ve seen on past cruises.

Ship tip
If you have a junior suite, make sure to go to the coastal kitchen on embarkation day and let them know what time you’d like to go for dinner. Although you can’t eat all meals here, it was definitely a nice perk for dinner. Plus the drinks were free!
