Review summary

Masks should have been encouraged more while on the ship. Myself/husband and friends were diagnosed with COVID the day after we stepped off the ship. We called Royal Caribbean just to let them know and mostly all I received was that R/C couldn't do anything since we had disembarked from the ship. Also, I was told that we signed a waiver meaning it was ok for us to catch COVID since we signed a waiver.

Embarkation

It went smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Windjammer food was not as plentiful. Main dining rooms were good however, it seems like it was short on staff.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Masks wearing was not encouraged enough leaving COVID exposure to be high.

Children's Programs

I didn't bring any children onboard.

The Covid strain is weakening as time goes on. Basically take responsibility for yourself and do what you feel is necessary for your own health and safety. Masks should be a personal choice along with vaccines at this point. The cruise ship isn’t responsible. When you travel it is at your own risk.

I love these people that are afraid of covid, go through airports and on planes, cruise ship, ports of call, then get covid and blame everyone else because they caught it. If you believe a mask works, you should wear it and in your thinking you should be protected. So why worry about everyone else and what they are wearing? If you have a mask you shouldn’t be protected. If you don’t agree, then don’t cruise!

For those afraid of COVID, please stay home where you are safe. It makes for less lines for me and my family when we cruise.

Sorry you became ill. The waiver was that you accepted the risk you might catch Covid, not that it was okay. Appreciate your feedback.

I was on the Allure a few weeks ago and I also got covid 3 days after I returned. There were over 6,000 passengers and it was crowded everywhere we went. Unfortunately thats the chance you take cruising.

Thanks for the review. Covid is relatively common in most places now, including cruise ships. It’s going to be with us forever, so we have to get used to it, just like the seasonal flu. The CDC just remove the recommendation for wearing masks at hospitals and nursing homes for most locations.

I heard someone tested positive for Covid after going to Walmart last week.

Masks wont stop covid virus anyway.. lol. It wont even stop dust particles, much less virus particles. 🙄

Covid is a risk you can catch it anywhere. Crowded tour busses and airplanes are a higher risk

Sounds like they should not be cruising. Catching Covid is a distinct possibility on a cruise (or any large gathering of strangers) and one should not blame the ship. We had three cruises, two 7 day and a 16 day (really a B2B) with no issues, but our 4th or 5th (B2B) we caught Covid and did not know it until the airport testing. Oh well, Oct 1, Celebrity Solstice, here we come!!!!!
