Great ship and lots to do. Highly recommended for long time and first time cruisers. You'll likely be spoiled and expect all cruises to be like this one. Absolutely a 5 star experience and look forward to another cruise in Spring 2023 on Oasis from Bayonne.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Bayonne has to be the easiest embarkation point of any port we've sailed from. Easy drive up for baggage dropoff, nearby parking and a short walk to the terminal building. Short security lines and easy check-in had us on the ship in less than 30 minutes from the time we drove up.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining room menu changes everyday providing variety. Additionally, restaurants like Solarium Bistro, El Loco Fresh and Broadway Dog House provided alternative complimentary options. Windjammer buffet is setup in a pod format and allows for a more efficient trip to the items you want and skip others. Portside BBQ was excellent at a modest additional charge.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Cruise Compass outlined a variety of events daily on the ship. From the multiple pools to the trivia sessions throughout the ship kept everyone busy during the day.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Evening shows, comedy clubs, music and special events in the Promenade like 70's night were fun. Cats and the Frozen ice show were well done. Comedy was excellent and there was always somewhere to catch different music genres throughout the evening.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Though understaffed, all crew throughout out the ship were professional and there were no issues encountered throughout our stay.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Love the Oasis of the Seas. A very large ship that did not seem crowded even though the passenger count for this sailing was around 5,800. Everything was well kept and no sign of age anywhere on the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was well appointed and seems to be larger than other ships inside staterooms. Very enjoyable stay and well maintained cabin.
Visited the private island for lunch and to hang out on the beach. Food lines were short and meals were varied and well done. No excursion planned on this trip.
Like many other regular cruisers, ships stop at Nassau all of the time and there is very little to do beyond shopping. Access is complicated by the construction of a new welcome building that will likely be used for passthrough in and out of Nassau from cruise ships.
Excellent. Walked off of the ship for a final Seapass check and into the customs area. Walk-up facial recognition with no lines and we were heading to the parking lot. Not sure it could be any faster.
