Review summary

Ship was great, never felt crowded. Did this cruise to see the ship and relax. Didn’t really do much at the ports. Only time we felt the ship move was when they had the throttle wide open to get back to Miami early for the medical situation. Will definitely sail on another Oasis class.

Embarkation

Very smooth. Had done everything ahead of time. From dropping off bags to on the ship was about 15 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Would be great to have a meat/cheese/fruit platter available for room service. It’s a nice thing to have with a cocktail before dinner. Room service menu seems to be designed for a teenager that doesn’t want to leave the room.

Main Dining Room

Only ate there two nights later in the cruise. Assistant waiter barely said hi and gave us our water and never saw her again. We had brought our own drinks from the bar and they never asked if we wanted another drink. Second night they remembered our names and were very nice. Food was fine. We had done the ultimate dining package. Probably wouldn’t do that again as the food all really tastes the same. You’re paying more for the experience and intimacy than you are the food.

Sorrento's Pizza

Great to grab a quick slice if you have late dinner and need something earlier.

Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade

Ate here once and another time just drinks to watch a game. Burgers come out about 9” tall. So basically you just knock it over and eat it with a fork. Burgers are well done but the fat content keeps them juicy.

Chop's Grille

Good service, food was good. Had ultimate dining so ate for lunch and dinner a couple times. Menu doesn’t really change at all.

Great for a quick snack. Have to pick your times wisely or you could be 40 people deep in line.

Service and Staff

If this was my first cruise I would have been happy and would have never known the difference. Last two cruises before this were with the Mouse. Could definitely tell the level of service was a little less but it’s really splitting hairs. Just a lot of little things here and there that sound dumb if you say them out loud but are there nonetheless. Will still cruise RCC because it is a good value for the service you get. Our credit card got charged for what our onboard charges were (about $200 each) for tips and other things. We also got charged $2,300 that Royal doesn’t see in their system. So that is being investigated.

Ship Quality

Great ship. Will be hard not to sail on an Oasis class ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Sheets had an awful smell. Finally got them changed— maybe the whole mattress got changed the 2nd day. Then it was better. Big balcony was nice. There is room for loungers— should add one to the larger balconies.

Facial recognition kicked me over to the face to face customs agent. So had to wait in a little longer line. Still not bad.
