Review summary

The cruise was wonderful. I did not envision enjoying myself on such a large ship. I thought there would be crowds and lines everywhere. I did reserve My Time Dining and shows as suggested. The only negative is the medical center. I hope you won't have to use it, because the hours are terrible. I had a bad reaction to a jelly fish sting and was the only one in the center. I was told to sign in and wait. (I didn't because I felt sick and would be more comfortable in bed) After that, I tried to return , but they have strange hours-- from 9:00 to 11:00 and 3:00 to 8:00

Embarkation

Long lines. But they moved fast. We had our set sail pass and passport and encountered no problems

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was fun. We had reservations for a party of five, so we got to know our waiter. The waitress in Sabor;s was especially friendly and helpful. Dinner in Chef's Grille was above average.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not really applicable. We had a very port extensive cruise and didn't use most of the onboard activities. The gym was large and well equipped. But I only used an elliptical on embarkation day

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed Splash. (Although it was a bit short) Come Fly with Me was unbelievable. Really enjoyed all the acrobatics and gymnists.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We came on board with wine. Steward gave us four wine glasses and robes when we requested them. Room was always cleaned

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Never have been on a ship this size. Expected long lines everywhere. Except for one instance in Windjammer, these lines did not occur. Central Park was very inviting.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I have stayed in a mini suite before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the size. Very spacious with a curtain to separate pull out sofa from the rest of the cabin. Plenty of shelf room and a walk in closet

Ship tip

Go to a alternate dining venue for lunch on Embarkation Day. We went to Park Cafe. Members in our party went to Windjammer and said it was very crowded

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Did an excursion with Viator before we sailed. Park Guall and Sagrada Familia. Not to be missed

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

Excursion with Shore Excursions. Climbed cliffs, jumped off and zip line into the water at the end. Be sure to wear the full wet suit. The scenery is stunning

Marseille (Provence), France

Went to Cassis. Little train ride to enter village was cute. (They want to cut down on cars)Visited three calanques once there. Again, the scenery is amazing. Wish we would have hiked some of the rocky shores.

La Spezia, Italy

4 out of 5
Rapallo, Portofino and St Margarita. Beautiful seaside towns on the Ligorian coast

Naples, Italy

3 out of 5
Too optimistic a schedule. Went on Royal Caribbean's Capri, Pompeii and Sorrento Excursion. Not enough time in Pompeii, although they did manage a visit to a cameo factory. The rest of the time we felt like we were cattle being herded from place to place. The view atop Capri is stunning but not sure it is worth feeling like a sardine

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Wonderful. We handled our luggage ourselves and encountered no lines at elevators or in halls. We were off the ship in fifteen minutes
