Review summary

Loved the Cruise Itinerary. Enjoyed the every other day port calls as it left time to enjoy the beautiful ship. Relaxed with the best roast beef sandwiches at the Central Park Cafe and released stress in the Jacuzzis. On the disappointing side there were no happy employees. Whomever hires and assigns staff did not have the right personalities in the right positions. Not everyone has what it takes to work in hospitality services. There was a noticeable absence of staff that was engaging and enthusiastic. They even said so when asked: How was your day? Answer: "All days are the same here". An unhappy crew transforms into unhappy customers so in the end it dampens the otherwise great experience.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Considering that embarkation was early it was good. We had to wait a bit after registering before they opened the doors but all in all good

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
food and drink was good in all included eating and drinking venues. The buffet at the Labadee private beach was outstanding!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
did not personally participate in much. Enjoyed the jacuzzis in the Solarium much. Music was not very good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
saw three shows. CATS was outstanding and so was the Aqua Theater. Music was disappointing in the lounges and overall.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Not sure if the recent Norovirus outbreak resulted in the staff being reprimaned or what but it appeared the entire crew was depressed. With the exception of one female at the Solarium there were no engaging or happy bartenders to be found anywhere at any of the bars (we went searching them all for one) . Some were downright unfriendly. The dining room and Windjammer were the same. Smiles from the staff were a rarity.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship's layout was great. The design really good. Central Park and Boardwalk excellent "neighborhoods! All was clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin layout was good. We were three adults and it was very comfortable. Our housekeeping by Maria was excellent!

Ship tip

travel with someone fun because the crew will not deliver happiness

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Did the Haiti Traditions excursion. Best excursion ever! Short (only 2 hours), informative and delivered with incredible enthusiasm by the participants. Left enough time to enjoy this beautiful island beach and the outstanding buffet. Rating this the best excursion on this itinerary by far!

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Falmouth, where the ship docked, is far from the interesting sites. The trip was long through very unattractive roads. Visited Dolphins and Dunn's Rivers - both were good but due to the limited time to spend there hard to appreciate. The food included was not impressive at all.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
We did the Tulum excursion with beach break. Tulum was great but the excursion was too much to squeeze into the time at port. Between ferry, bus and being overcrowded (I think 7 ships in port) this was very stressful, very rushed. The beach was not a nice one in comparison and the included food was terrible. RCCL should not offer an excursion that clearly tries to squeeze more into it than is possible.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was outstanding!
