Oasis of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: January 06, 2019

Ship: Oasis of the Seas

Cabin number: 12617

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

If I cruise again, it will not be on such a large ship. Smaller ships are easier to get around and get into venues.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Main dining room 1st two nights, wonderful. Third night got wrong orders twice. After that only dined at Windjammer Marketplace. Not good just passable.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Only used hot tub...and it was not hot.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Had to have reservations to most shows and they did not have our reservation to very first night's show. Could not go to it. Headliner show, Earl Turner was excellent. Cats musical was ok.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
***** Jossett Howell, our stateroom attendant was very good. Helpful when I got ill with gastro-enteritis (N. stomach flu). 18 hours for ship's nurse came to room for medial attention. This was unacceptable.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
No basin or bowl to get sick in, bathroom too small, no kleenex, no drinking water and soap was gummy, small and not sanitary. Stateroom attendant kept room sanitized and clean.

Ship tip

My experience was unpleasant but if you are going...bring your own antibacterial pump hand soap or germ-x hand sanitizer to put in your bathroom.

This was my tenth cruise! And I thought I was Leveling up! I will definitely go back to my carnival cruise anytime where the staff are friendlier and more down to earth!

My problem was that I had a problem with one guest relation employee and she called security on me because I asked for a manager! Then 2 people wearing white uniform came with body cam came asking me to calm dowm! Really??? Thank God for 4 guys who were there and witnessed everything! I noticed that the staff were quick to call security for every small thing! customers are bound to be frustrated! You do not call security for every small thing! Jesus! Body cam??? Really! I thought I was in the Ntonx! 😆

I think where you went wrong was only using the hot tubs! The oasis of the seas has soooo many excellent onboard activities and amenities! A shame you didn’t experience more of them😕 I wish you the best in cruising futures!

18 hrs for a nurse and medical care....you do realize there are over 8,000 people on that ship, not sure how many nurses are on board but she could be the only one, and you were most likely not the only one who needed attention. As far as drinking water, I get mine right from the sink...its the SAME water they use in the dining rooms. Ive been on the Allure and the Oasis, and a few times the shows were full, so we found something else to do, no biggie. I bring my own soaps, kleenex and even Clorox wipes to clean the bathroom...sounds like nothing on this cruise would have pleased you. SMH

Reservations don't really matter for shows. Always open seats for walk-ins. Have never seen a walk-in turned away on any Oasis class ship except for comedy and they always have huge comedy show on last day with tons of vacant seats. Drinking water is in every cabin. Called a faucet. Agree disembarkation for Oasis is a mess.

Agree, you've got to make reservations for many if not all of the shows. Bon voyage
