Review summary

This cruise started out wonderful. Our family group was enjoying drinks, food and entertainment on the ship. We had an amazing time at Labadee! The next morning at breakfast my MIL noticed something was “off”. The salt and pepper was not on the table and they took other communal items off the table (ate in coastal kitchen). She looked at us and said there must be an outbreak. Long story short the Noro Virus was on the ship and making its rounds. Port authorities in Jamaica would not allow us to disembark (rightfully so). Captain and crew edged us on for HOURS (literally) saying they were working with authorities and we would be allowed off the ship soon. 4-5 hours later they stated we would be leaving this port and going to the next. During the night they made the decision to cancel all remaining ports and head back early (best decision). By the time we disembarked, over 500 passengers caught the virus. Royal Caribbean did fully refund the cruise (minus food & drink packages, just prorated). Minus the virus incident, the cruise was amazing.

Ship tip

The crew is on top of everything and ready for whatever comes their way (noro virus ran rampant). Even if what comes their way is bad, they will make sure you have a good time.

Yes, the lack of salt and pepper shakers is a big heads up. It's sounds like they have good protocols in place. And luckily, it also sounds like you and family were physically spared the virus. That's a good thing. Did you also get a discount on a future booking?
