Review summary

Great cruise! We were told the ship was full, but I never felt it was overly crowded. The pools were great and we never had to look endlessly for lounge chairs. The food was ok, but typical for what I expect on a cruise ship. Service staff was excellent all around! The staterooms are small but adequate. Storage is the staterooms is pathetic. The shows were average (most notably Cats....which is simply too long of a show (2 hours) to use on a cruise ship.

Embarkation

Super fast embarkation. No lines and we only had to wait for boarding due to a USCG inspection. Disney needs to take some lessons from Royal Caribbean on how to get passengers onboard.

My son is at the top age for the kids club (11) and he hated it because there was no independence in the club. He felt micro managed. My daughter (9) on the other hand loved the club.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Some rough carpet in a few areas, but as I understand the ship will be in dry dock soon and much of this normal wear and tear will be taken care of. Everything was clean and the only things we noticed were caused from having 5000+ passengers every week.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabin was clean and our attendant was great. The biggest 2 problems were keeping the cabin cool and storage. We had to keep the balcony curtains closed all the time to keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature (having closed curtains kills the view). The storage was absolutely deplorable. Nice size closet but the room and only 3 drawers for storage with several shelves that were only a few inches deep so you could not store any clothing in them.

Ship tip

Great ship and staff overall. Yes, it is the oldest Oasis Class ship so there are a few less bells and whistles, but we never lacked something to do.

Glad you had a great cruise and enjoyed the Oasis class ship! We also did the Oasis first, and loved it. Though only two of us, we found the ocean balcony room size and storage great. I can imagine with 4 it might be a bit tight. With all cruise ships balcony rooms we've had, you needed to keep the curtains closed while not in the room, or it would get warm. But as soon as we walk in the room, we always open the curtains. Big thing on Oasis ships is to keep the balcony door closed and locked... it turns off the ac if the balcony door handle is not latched. We are on he Symphony of the Seas TransAtlantic cruise right now and LOVE IT!! Beautiful new ship, and more to do than even the Oasis!! You should try it!! 😀
