Review summary

I have been waiting all year to take this cruise. We didn't schedule excursions because the weather was very iffy. Overall, it was a disappointment. The ship is beautiful, but there are not enough activities for 6500 people. My daughter had several less than satisfactory interactions with customer service. Our wait staff was excellent, but the food was just ok. Our cabin steward was excellent.

For the most part, excellent. There are always a few sour apples to spoil the trip.

Schedule everything weeks in advance if you want to see any entertainment.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Live there.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
Ok, but again, too crowded. Lines for food were a joke. The price for extras like the zip line was outrageous.

Falmouth, Jamaica

1 out of 5
This is a terrible Port of Call.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Limited, but at least it is safe and the people are friendly.

The reason I like the smaller ships (anything below Freedom Class) is because there is so much more glass to be able to look out of to see the water. The big ships are designed for stuff going on inside the ship for the most part. I love to be able to see outside from any place I choose to sit on the ship. We've sailed on Allure & we'll be doing a back to back on Oasis in Dec. just for a change but my heart belongs with Grandeur, Jewel, Serenade, Enchantment, Vision, etc. Different strokes for different folks the saying goes.......

Just got off today. Was a wonderful cruise. Yes the shows are limited but plan ahead and u can see what u want. We found more just walking the ship in the evenings. Crew having fun on flow rider after close. That's a must see. Movies at aqua theater at night. Special events everywhere. Windjammer is a buffet. Don't expect anything different. Always found something to eat. Did not visit MDR. Just me and my daughter. Happy with buffet and pizza. Better than the shows was the people we met on board. Halfway through the cruise we started meeting at the same spot just laughing and having a good time. Group I was around had 20 to 40 per night. So much fun. I did find some workers that seemed like they didn't want to be there. But the great part is u have so many choices. After 2 days I found the deck bar I preferred, one in solarium, and schooner inside. Walk the ship. If something is not to ur liking move to another. I did meet people that sail a lot and prefer the smaller ships for the service. If that is ur thing then stick to a smaller ship. I honestly can't say anything bad. Some inconvience or rude people, but u will find that on any ship. My advice find a size u like and stick with it. Also don't just think the shows are ur only entertainment. I can promise u that is not true. Good luck. Happy Cruising everyone

We had our 1st cruise on the Lady O last June. Even though it was at full capacity we never felt like it was over crowed. What I don't understand is how a ship that has a capacity of 2000 to 4000 and smaller in size would be any less crowed when at full capacity. A ship being crowed would be subject to size and the number of people on board I would think.....

Thanks for your review. We’ve exclusively cruised Oasis class since 2010 and we’ve never had a bad experience. Without wearing yourself out I don’t see how anyone can even fit all of the activities in a one week cruise. We’ll be returning to the Allure in February and we cannot wait.

have to look at that cruise compass...activities all day long. The ship is an open concept w the promenade and central park...how is it choppy? I felt Brilliance was choppy, but Oasis was wide open!

I agree with you- small venues for such a large ship. And we did not like the ship’s layout, felt it was choppy. We will stick with Freedom and smaller classes of ships from now on.

I just went two weeks ago and had one of my best experiences. My 8th cruise on an oasis class ship, and they don’t disappoint.

I like smaller ships... that's way too big for me!
