The Oasis was one BIG disappointment after another! What happened to DIFFERENT entertainment EVERY NIGHT instead just 3 things which you had to Pre-book or you get NO Enertainment, 2 hour wait for the surf pool, it should be stress free NOT STRESSFUL!

Review summary

I promised my friend who had never cruised she would see unbelievable entertianment we were not even allowed in any of the 3 shows offered for the entire week. What happened to sitting at dinner with the same people to share your day and then going to the NEW DIFFERENT SHOW AFTER or vise versa. Everything had to be Pre-booked or you were **** out of luck and I paid a **** Load Of Money for NOTHING! I wanted to learn to surf, I snowboard and slolumn ski but to wait 2 hours to finally try and be done in 30 seconds while the people that no how get 10-15 minutes, this should be times 10 min for EVERYONE. Paid Extra for Balcony so we could have a cigarette now and then and no one told us we couldn't smoke out there any more. The Cost of the Cruise was HIGH, flight $1,500, gratuity was so high and the cruise completely SUCKED. All that money you get from us and you can't afford diff entertainment every night where we either eat first then show or vise versa so you didn't have to THINK or STRESS or Constatly wait in line HOPING you could see a show but never get in to the 3 lousy choices with a high packed boat? **** the comedy show held like 100 people how are 5,000 people supposed to get to see this in 7 nights so really there was only TWO different entertainment shows to pick from no wonder there was never any room to go see it the whole ship is supposed to squeeze into ONLY Two shows!! CATS didn't even play 3 nights we were there, not that we would have gotten in cuz we were never told to PRE-BOOK. I will BAD MOUTH the Oasis and cruises because if all the ships changed to this awful menu it won't be long until NO ONE Cruises any more! All thru my 30's I cruised with you guys 2 times a year and did everything from Alaska to islands THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS, IT IS A TOTAL RIP OFF NOW, I WOULD NEVER WASTE MY MONEY AGAIN, YOU'd have to give me a FREE cruise and prove things changed before I waste another penny. All these years I bragged up cruises and how they didn't compare to all inclusive resorts, what a joke now. You guys really went Down HILL Big Time!

Don't Take It! I use to cruise 2 times a year with you guys, I had a bad 10 years but could finally afford and took a friend who never cruised bragging about the diff entertainment every night the non stop fun, we seen NO entertainment cuz there were only 3 things all week not different things each night. The dinner was set up awful you should go back to picking early dinner and late show or vise versa. I will NEVER cruise again after this awful experience. I wanted to surf but to stand in line for 2 hours while the good people go for ever and beginners are done in 30 seconds, this should be timed the same for everyone. huge HUGE RIP OFF I WISH I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK AND ERASE THE MEMORIES OF THIS!

Sounds like you did literally no research. Almost every cruise line has a rule against smoking on the balcony now, and it's pretty well known that on Royal's largest ships you have to reserve your spot for shows. Not usually with the smaller ones, but definitely with Oasis class.

The casino has smoking.

Times have changed a lot. You need to go to a suite class or try a higher end line (all inclusive) to get the service that used to be available in "coach"

If someone is that unhappy on Oasis, they will be that unhappy anywhere! We had all our shows and dining booked last year 90 days out because we actually realized that the world didn't revolve around us. That was my first time on Royal and my husband's first civilian cruise! He didn't have a hissy fit because he couldn't smoke on the balcony... he just went to the smoking areas. What a moron!

First world problems

First RC cruise in 2 weeks. Everything that was mentioned I already know because I did my research. Not that difficult. Plenty of online resources. I am a light smoker. I know balcony and staterooms are off limits. They have marked smoking areas. For the ones that say no smoking should be allowed, then your loud obnoxious perfume etc should not be allowed. Ship is large enough for everyone. If smoke bothers u then walk around the smoking area like the ones who do smoke walk around 98 pct of the ship. Ur not going to miss anything standing in the 2pct. Probably the same people looking down on others because they don't want to wear suits and ties on vacation for dinner. Happy Cruising everyone.

Her rant did educate me. First time on a ship larger than the Explorer of the Seas and I understand her rant. I have been on CCL, NCL, and RCCL and am use to the two dining options with show times before and after with open seating. I must have missed the warnings about pre-registration for shows but now being informed I have made my reservations!

rickthemc best line I’ve read, “maybe you should try camping” 😂🤣😂

I went on oasis. In fact I have cruises with Royal a few times. I never had any problems finding something to do. And as for smoking. If I owned the cruise line I wouldn’t have smoking due to negligence and safety. And my brother in law who went also smoked he whole time. Anyway if you have cruises a lot then you would know the rules and how to book shows ect.

You'll never be treated like the only king onboard when you get on a boat with 5-6000 other special people

I just got off the Oasis a week ago and NEVER had a problem... but then again I do my research, I know how cruise ships work, and Im not a smoker... I mean who is dumb enough to smoke now days?? I stopped smoking when I was 19yrs old in the Navy because they raised the price to $3 a CARTON on the ship!! I cant even fathom the people who pay 3x that for a single pack!! Sheesh.

rickthemc    6 years ago

Not sure where to start... Smoking, the majority of us out here would prefer the ship only to allow smoking on the upper level next to the smokestacks, shows...aqua, ice rink, comedy, headliner all happening and you couldn't get in to 1 huh? Dining, if you booked a time for dinner and not my time you would have been fine. 1500 for a flight? I hope that was first class from Oahu, if not try Expedia next time. As to the flow rider, Yup if you show up at prime time there are lines, but I've been on Oasis twice and never had an issue getting on either. I also was given multiple tries maybe it was because I was nice and treated the staff warmly... As to prices, after 16 cruises just with RCL and multiples with others good luck, value for what you get it would be difficult to match the value, essentially they are comparable to the other lines in price point. Maybe you should try camping, then you only have yourself to blame when you do no research and wind up being disappointed...

Sometimes the stupid get left behind. Reserve dinner around the show times so you can see everything.

mabsback    6 years ago

We had a wonderful time on the oasis. It was one of the best ever. I did research before we went and knew to pre book shows

mbr101358    6 years ago

Seriously, smoking on the balcony??? I’ve cruised Oasis several times and while I made reservations for the shows there was never a show that you couldn’t walk up and attend. With the exception of the comedy club there isn’t a show you couldn’t see without reservations. A little research goes a long way.

Warnslmk    6 years ago

Hahahahaha! You are seriously mad at the cruise line because YOU didnt do your research? Clearly, if you had you would have known to pre-reserve shows and you would have known that smoking is no longer allowed on the balconies. As for the Flow Rider, once you fall, did you think you should be allowed to cut back ahead of the line to get back on and keep trying for your 10 minutes? Lol

CaptainGMan    6 years ago

Bad mouth all you want but authentic cruisers don’t listen to morons

CaptainGMan    6 years ago

Here’s another interesting part......no cruise history.

CaptainGMan    6 years ago

Some people are just disgusting honestly. How is that for change.....do some freaking research idiot

hookem72    6 years ago

You cruises with them a lot yet you don't know the rules? I am sure the cruise line is going to grovel at your feet and beg you to come back. I would probably stay home if I were you though.

kilgallonchrisgmailcom    6 years ago

For starters,. They should not even allow someone to smoke on a cruise let alone the balcony. We booked this cruise and figured quickly that was different and needed to pre book everything. You should learn to research and not be so negative about a specific ship.
