Review summary

We had a wonderful time together out at sea. We try to make the most out of everything so we didn't let the little things bother us. We will probably try another company next time or a different ship.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Coast Guard delayed clearing the ship & the lines were horrendous getting on the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food in MDR & buffet was just okay. There were not many choices for dinner in the MDR. We had dinner one night at the Solarium Bistro & even that was not impressive.

Solarium Bistro

3 out of 5

The appetizers were just okay. We didn't even want the desert that they had. The entrees were comparable to the MDR menu

Windjammer Cafe

4 out of 5

The food was pretty good, it just isn't very big.

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

We had breakfast here & it was really good

Cups and Scoops

4 out of 5

The ice cream is great (Ben & Jerry's), the cupcakes were okay.

Café Promenade

3 out of 5

Not very good selections

Boardwalk Dog House

3 out of 5

I wish they had more topping options, like chili & cheese. The hot dog was good

American Icon Grill

3 out of 5

Not enough selections for dinner. Some nights I settled for something because I didn't really like the options. It was like they were trying to hard to have fancy dishes when something more simple would have been better. I had a shrimp cocktail almost every night because the appetizer selection wasn't very good

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Open hours for the activities could be a little better. We spent most of our time in the adult-only area. We enjoyed the hot tub & pools. The zip line was fun, but nothing crazy, probably more entertaining for children. The fitness center seemed very nice.

Solarium

5 out of 5

Very peaceful. The pools & hot tubs were never super crowded. The big lounge chairs were very nice to relax in

Rock Climbing Wall

4 out of 5

They asked if I had every rock climbed & I said no, but they put me on the hard section. I was only able to get about half way up until I reached the point where I could not go up any further. It seemed like they only ever had one of the walls open at a time which doesn't make sense since there was a wait to do it

Zipline

4 out of 5

It's pretty short & you don't go very fast, but it was still fun. It's probably better for children

Whirlpools

5 out of 5

Never really crowded, the Solarium whirlpools were very peaceful, especially as the sun was going down

Dunes Mini Golf

4 out of 5

It was a decent course & was fun for about 20-30 minutes

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Comedy Live

3 out of 5

The comedy was good. One performer used the crowd for his show & it wasn't very good. He didn't really have any content & he interacted with a select few members of the audience that identified with him. The comedy club is very small & there is only one show all week, besides the final show on the last night

AquaTheater

5 out of 5

Great show!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had no issue with the staff & our wait staff was wonderful. They remembered us & our individual preferences

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean, and it does not feel crowded. The room design was terrible. The bathroom was incredibly small. The counter space is almost non existent & it's about impossible to get ready in there. The shower is very small & we would always hit our elbows on the shower door & walls (we aren't big people). It was also very hard to get into the closet. The doors do not open all the way and the couch was in the way. Just poor design all around.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Check out Historic Cocoa Village if you have the time. Great shopping & good places to eat

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
Still recovering from damage & many of the resort beaches are closed. We took a taxi to a nicer beach (skip the water taxi, the beach there isn't nice). We ended up on a kayak & snorkel excursion & it was a lot of fun!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We did the Discover Scuba Diving excursion here. The company was great & we had a wonderful time, highly recommended! We had lunch & went shopping near the port. Definitely not enough time here!

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Columbus Cove beach was great, but water was a little cloudy. We went through the Haitian market village. They are incredibly pushy & you must be able to say no many, many times. You can get some good deals on some of their items if you are interested.

Based on the review, it was probably the room design, hours for activities and food quality...to name a few.

Sorry to hear that. We were on the Oasis several years ago and had a great time.
