Review summary

It was overall ok. This was my first cruise so perhaps I expected too much as I heard the service and food was exceptional on Royal Caribbean. I would compare it to staying at a Best Western for a week and eating at Denny's the entire time. Nothing really wrong with either place but nothing to get excited about or jump at going back to.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very long lineups, but staff was friendly and moved us through as quick as they could.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was mediocre at best, we had dinner in the dining room the first three nights but decided not to return. The food each night was poor quality and lukewarm. You could tell that everything was pre-cooked and kept warm in a warmer and literally thrown on your table when you ordered it. Service was not good, never offered a drink or drink menu, each night we had to ask to look at the wine menu. One night we had to wait over 10 minutes at our table before we were even acknowledged. Most days we grabbed a sandwich or salad at Central Park Cafe. Food was very disappointing overall.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools are VERY crowed. Had to wait for people to leave to be able to sneak in to get a tiny spot. Be prepared to be kicked and have only about a foot of space around you at all times.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw several shows while on the ship. The comedians were great, diving show was entertaining and the headliner musical group was very good. We also saw Come Fly With Me and several game shows etc.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Service was poor to average at best. There appeared to be not enough staff for the amount of people on the ship. Staff seemed overworked and frazzled everywhere we went. We didn't eat at any of the specialty dining rooms so perhaps the service was better there. The only good service or happy person we saw was our room attendant, she made a point of saying hello to us every time we left or entered our room.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything seemed very clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room attendant did a great job keeping the room clean and greeting us everyday. The best service we received on this ship was from her.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
The beach was beautiful. Food lackluster, long line ups for drinks, ran out of drinks (labadoozies).

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Went river tubing- guide was amazing. Best food we had all trip was on the beach.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Went snorkeling and dune bugging. Snorkeling was VERY crowed, but we had a good time.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Busy with very long line up but they tried to move us through the line ups as quick as they could.

Try seaborn nxt to2me for about $7k or private yacht for $10k for weekend. Might enjoy the service.

We just got off same cruise and we did not experience anything like that! It could not have been better, granted the windjammer is not all that great but it’s buffet food, the rest are great, perhaps your negative attitude shows through and the wait staff avoided you!!

last time I checked, Denny's didn't serve sea bass, lobster, shrimp, escargot, salmon, duck, good cuts of pork and steak, caprese salads, bruschetta, etc. lol...

For your 1st cruise. You basically want a dream suite treatment at all times. A cruise is good if you have a good attitude and high spirits. My kids love the ships food pools etc Cruising not for all ppl

Denny’s food is average to me, but the food on the Oasis was exceptionally good. Any eats on a cruise is going to be awesome to us.

I’m sorry your first cruise experience wasn’t what you had expected. Comparing the state room to a BW might be fair unless the state room was a suite. As for comparing the food to Denny’s might be a bit harsh. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I’m curious, what is your definition of fine/moderate dining?

We just got of the ship Sunday, we only ate at the main dinning room twice and it was ok. We mostley ate in the specialtyrestaurants and they were very good.

OMG I am appalled.......comparing the Oasis food and service to Best Western and Denny’s?.....definitely cruising is not for you.
