Review summary

We sprung for the suite experience this time and did not regret it. Getting on and off the ship was quick and easy. We had access to the suite lounge and took advantage of the drinks offered throughout the day. Reserved seats for the shows were also a great perk. We didn't have to worry about making reservations for anything and had the ability to change up our plans because of it. We ate at Coastal Kitchen, Chops, Izumi, Sabor, Solarium Bistro, Johnney Rockets, Park Cafe, Windjammer, Wipeout Cafe, and Boardwalk Dog House. Izumi was a bit of a disappointment. Everything else lived up to our expectations. The crew and staff really ensured that we had a great experience.

Ship tip

Get there early on embarkation day and explore the ship before everybody gets on.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Got there early and got on the ship quick.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

The excursion we took was an island tour. It was obvious they had been affected by the hurricane, but there also seemed to be a measurable amount of trash lying around that was unrelated to the storm. Maybe a trip back at a later time would be a different experience.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Took a self guided tour around Old San Juan. This was the highlight of our cruise.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Did the monster zip line and the jet ski experience. Both were fun, but I'd wait for the sales before booking either of them.

No reservations needed for shows when you are in a suite? This is our first cruise that requires reservations.

@Bucknutt77 this is how drinks work in the suite lounge. All day you can get beer, wine, champagne, soda and water. Between 5:30-10:30 they serve all of that plus mixed drinks. Blended drinks such as piña coladas aren’t offered. Hope this helps 😀

If you didn’t try the sushi side of Izumi you should next time. The soups were outstanding and huge and the fish in the sushi was super fresh!

My family and I will be traveling in the grande suite for the first time. Was there a need for the drink package in this case with all the perks?
