Review summary

We had a great time and definitely want to go on the Oasis again. One person had done the Western and Eastern Carribean on this boat and preferred the Eastern Carribean. We loved our days at sea. There is so much to do and the shows and activities were fantastic. The food and service is top notch. You can't fit it everything you want to do in 7 days.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were in the American Icon Grill Dining Room, 3rd floor, My Time Dining room (5 nights) and in the Solarium Bistro for 2 nights (the formal nights). Our waiters, especially Rodney, in the American Icon Dining room were fantastic. Rodney seranaded us every night. They all were fantastic and made our teens feel special. They did a great job with the 3 birthday celebrations we had in our group of 35.

The waiters were the best!

Onboard Activities

There were a lot of pools and hot tubs on this ship so it wasn't crowded. The zip line, flowrider basketball court were all great.

Sports Court

We had 17 and 18 year olds in our group and 17 year olds were not allowed to participate in ANY of the adult competitions - so volleyball water and land, soccer, basketball 3 v 3 etc. This was a big disappointment for the 17 year olds. The 18year olds had a great time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The aqua shows and Come Fly with Me, and the Ice Show was amazing. Since the ice show theme was fairy tales some of teens didn't go, but they missed an amazing ice show full of spins and jumps.

They were constantly cleaning. It was spotless.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a Boardwalk Balcony and it was great. You could see the water from the balcony, but not from inside the room. It was roomy and they were able to connect the two balconies with our adjoining room. Our cabin was spotless. Desiree did an outstanding job. It was quiet at night. Could see the aqua show a bit from our balcony, but always went to the ampitheater.

Ship tip

If you have a group of mixed 17 and 18 year olds, be prepared for them not to be able to do things together. The sports competitions are only for adults. At night, Dazzles (2 level disco with live music many nights) was open to all ages (even younger teens were there with parents), but the other bars were not. The 18 year olds could not go to the teen club, Fuel, either. I've heard the rules are the same on other ships, but on other ships there might be more open air dancing on deck. That's what was missing on this ship.

We stayed in Cocoa Beach the night before the cruise. The beach was nice.

Our group did 2 different things. One group went to the Blue Waters Beach Escape with RC. BEAUTIFUL white sand beach and great swimming. Food and drink were good. Drinks are strong. Their non-alcoholic smoothies were wonderful. The other half of our group went on Pete Taylor's Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls (DRF) Trip. Our ship didn't get in until 10am, tour started at 10:30am. It's an hour drive to DRF and they got there at the peak time. Then went to the Blue Hole (BH). BH is sketchy. The rocks are slippery and you have to be careful. Our group had about an hour there, but that was good because it's dangerous and one of the teens even said that if they'd spent more time there, they would have taken more risks and someone probably would have gotten hurt. There are tons of native smoking weed too. It's not organized well with guides, just a bunch of locals. RC does not go there and now we know why. The drive back was rushed and they didn't have time to stop for food, so they were hungry when they got back at 5:30. The van was dirty and the fast drive back was a bit scary. Save yourself the anxiety and go on an RC excursion to DRF and skip the BH.

We all went to Mr. Sancho's All Inclusive and had a great day. Some people did the 90 min snorkeling there and they went to 2 reefs and saw a lot. It was a 14-16 foot boat. Others in our group went on the RC 3 reef snorkeling trip and it was a 40 ft boat. Both groups saw a lot of the same stuff, the longer RC trip saw more, not surprisingly. The cabs are very efficient at the port. $17 to Mr. Sanchos for up to 4 people. They double the rate after 4 etc.

The line was very long at 9:30am when we left. If you tip the porters you can skip to the front of the line which seems unfair. It's probably worth it to get the porters if you're concerned about getting to the airport or you don't like to wait in lines. It took us an hour once we got our luggage.
