Review summary

This was a dream vacation for our family. There was always so much to do and enjoy. Oasis of the Seas is an incredible ship. There is just as much to do on the ship, as there is to do off of it. We can't wait to go again. This was our children's first cruise. Now they can't wait to go again. Definitely worth it!!!!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We arrived at Port Canaveral around 10 a.m. We were on the ship 45 minutes later! Even without passports and using birth certificates for our family, the process was quick, with very little waiting. I would highly recommend the online boarding process. It made embarkation so easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room for dinner. The staff was fantastic, adjusting tables so our family could sit with our friends. The food was delicious, even for our younger daughter who sometimes just wanted pizza or chicken strips. Most of the other meals we ate at the Windjammer. We also tried the Park Cafe for lunch. Definitely try Johnny Rockets, their breakfast was delicious.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There is so much to do on this ship. We especially loved the Flowrider, whirlpool and rock climbing walls. The only disappointment was that our 7 year old wasn't able to ride on the zipline or Flowrider.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows are amazing. We reserved our tickets in advance online which saved us the hassle of trying to get a seat at the last minute. We attended Come Fly With Me, Frozen In Time, Cats and Oasis of Dreams Aqua Show. They were all good but our favorite was Come Fly With Me. My wife and I also attended some of the couples shows at night and really enjoyed them.

Children's Programs

Our 7 year old always wanted to be with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The Oasis staff go above and beyond in trying to always ensure your having a great time. One night our waiters performed a magic trick, using a wine bottle and forks. Our kids loved it. Our room attendant always left towel animals in our rooms at night.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
If you love the feel of mega ships, you will love Oasis of the Seas. We never felt crowded except when waiting for an elevator at busy times. Often we opted to take the stairs and work off some of the extra food we ate. The ship was surprisingly steady and very rarely was rocking. The ship is kept in very clean condition.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was the first time we had an outside balcony room. We'll never book a room without a balcony again. It was so nice to sit outside at night and in the morning, listening to the sea. We also kept our door open several nights, listening to the ocean as we went to sleep. The only complaint we had was a lack of hot water during some morning hours.

Ship tip

The older your children are, the more they will enjoy this ship. Our 7 year old wasn't able to participate on the zipline or Flowrider because she wasn't 8.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Because it was Sunday, we opted not to visit anywhere around Port Canaveral.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

We loved this little resort. The Dragon's Breath zipline was a favorite for our kids, even though it doesn't last very long considering the price. The beach is quite rocky though so make sure to bring sandals.

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Great place to go shopping. Don't wander outside the fence though unless your with an excursion. The people in the city were quite frightening for our 7 year old.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was by far our favorite port. We booked the dune buggy/snorkel tour. It was with a company called Explora Caribe Tours. We drove all the way around the south part of the island, stopping to snorkel at Playa Uvas. We continued around the bottom of the island, stopping again to play on the beach at Playa San Martín. Our tour guides were fun and loved showing us the beauty of Cozumel. It was the best excursion for the price.

Disembarkation

Very smooth process. We got off the ship a little early to make sure we made our transfer. It took about an hour to exit the ship, locate our luggage and then go through customs.
