Loved the cruise. Disappointed we didn’t get some sort of refund for total change in ports. We paid for better ports and got cheap ones.

Review summary

Ship was great but ports were no where near what we wanted. We paid for better islands and disappointed we didn’t get some sort of refund or any furture booking discount.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Rough water at first, but it was not fault of the cruise line

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Everything was great, but we didn’t eat in the main dining area but a few times and had to pay the gratuity for service we didn’t receive.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Had to wait in long lines and sometimes they cut the line off only after a few people. Ballon twisting and face painting are prime examples. Loved the two employees doing it, but there needs to be more for face painting.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
This was our favorite part of the cruise! We saw Cats twice and my kids are have been singing the songs ever since.

Children's Programs

We only used the kid care 1 time. They lined it but I can’t comment since we didn’t use it but for 90 minutes.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Hayden for 11579 and 81 was awesome! He made my kids day with his towel animals. He always stopped and talked with us and was in the best mood always. That’s a hard job and he did it amazingly well.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
No complaints. The only thing that would have made it better is some sort of white noise machine to drown out the noise from upper rooms or people running down the hall.

Ship tip

Lines are long for kid activities so get in line very early. I was in line 35 Minutes’s before the ice skating passes were given out and I was still pretty far back.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

We didn’t do anything here. Clean area lines moved pretty fast.

Basseterre, St. Kitts Did not visit port

Didn’t visit this port

San Juan, Puerto Rico Did not visit port

Didn’t visit this port.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island) Did not visit port

Didn’t visit this port. However, this was the reason we wanted this cruise.

If you don't want to deal with Rough Waters, don't take cruises during Hurricane Season!! Prayers go out to the Islanders who have lost too much. 💔

Cruise Ship companies can change ports/itinerary without notice and/or explanation and compensation. When you buy a cruise, you agree to these terms. Some islands are devastated. You still had the chance to go on a cruise, on an amazing ship while some people on these islands don’t even have a home anymore. They changed some ports because there’s nothing left and it’s not safe for travelers. You chose to go on a cruise during hurricane season. Even more chances to have a change of itinerary. But aside from all this, it must’ve been a great cruise because you gave it 5 stars.

Another hurricane whinner? If you lived on one of the islands/ports destroyed by Harvey, Irene, and/or Maria I might understand. Not many refunds given to those that lost homes, businesses, and lives either.
