Review summary

The ship was beautiful and well planned as there were only a few times that one noticed all the folks on board.  We hadn't cruised in 2 yrs so were surprised by the fee for room service( $7.95) for all but a continental breakfast, also the TV movies were limited unless you paid for one ($11.95).  Both of these were free on previous RCCL Cruises.  We are Emerald Class so have done many RCCL Cruises.  We also missed the chocolates on the pillow and we only had 2 towel animals on our beds......a big change from 2 yrs ago.

I think its still a good deal to cruise for what you get...cruising (on all lines) is certainly not like it was, but then again...nothing is...just feel blessed to be able to go and fortunate to have experienced the old perks!

ChalupaBatman--You are absolutely correct! I can book an ocean view or even a balcony on RCCL, NCL, or CCL for the same price as an inside on Disney! No thank you! My daughter has sailed Disney and said there is no comparison, and I believe her, but there is no way in hell I will pay that!

Disney costs a lot more $$ compared to RCL, NCL and CCL.

Grandmanurse I've been on forty nine cruises . And you are right and I think that's another perk that's RCI is making it less desirable to sail with them . Now I will have to make it up at dinner . And I use to order the cookies with room service . But there not worth $7.95 . I might have to start sailing back to Disney

CaptanHook---that has changed. Now all room service at any time, other than the continental breakfast, has a $7.95 service charge.

Room service is free until a certain time

There no such thing as a free lunch. But I do agree they should at least keep up with the chocolates and towel animals. Especially when you are at Emerald Class. Loyalty is dead in most cases nowadays.

Royal Caribbean has been in a downward spiral for a long time now

True. Cruise lines in general are starting to tack on fees for perks that were once free, or just eliminating them. NCL went to a $7.95 room service charge awhile ago, and now RCCL has followed suit. I've been cruising for many years, and I've seen other perks disappear---midnight buffets, complimentary cocktail parties with appetizers, and past guest parties to name a few. Does this mean I will give up cruising? Not a chance! Cruise addict for life! 😎⛴🍷🍹🍸
