Review summary

We never sailed on Royal and never on a big ship.  We were in amazement at the start.  If you have never been on a big ship it has its UPS and downs from the get go.  Be ready to walk and stand for things and get pushed around by people who fail to remember vacation doesn't mean vacation from manners.  Windjammer is a complete mess!! NO organization at all! There is NO rhyme to the madness at all.  They close things down WAY to early for such a huge ship that has 6000 people looking for something to do.  The coke machines always broke down on our cruise.  I think they need more than what they have to really allow the ability to move around the ship instead of going to one place thats always a pain..windjammer then deck 5 where pictures ect are being done.  If you do anytime and do NOT pick a time there is no telling where you will sit! Pick a time and u may get the same seats possibly.  Im not going to say we had a bad time at all its just not the ship for us going fwd.  Its a wonderful ship just be patient or be prepared to tell people where to go LOL.

You can get your cup refilled at any bar on the ship. It doesn't have to be the freestyle drink machines.

I'd have to completely disagree as well. We have sailed the allure and oasis and loved them both. If you keep in mind, it's not a ship, it's more a small city, you'll be fine. Nothing everything will be right next like the smaller ships. We have cruised well more a dozen times and every cruise we have been on have rude people especially carnival, which was the worst. Also most cruises have shitty food after midnight but then there's always room service for those late night munchies And we have never wanted for something to do ever, any time of the day or night. There are late shows, the are night clubs, comedy shows, piano bars all open LATE and lots of fun and don't forget about the casino that is also open late with tournaments all day and night. Also "anytime" dinner on any rccl is the same and they seat you at the first available table. It's a great

^ On Day 2, we spoke to the main dining room manager on Deck 5 (Silk).

I agree they need more Freestyle Coke Machines. That is pretty much the only complaint I have. I booked late and only had 8:00pm avail at booking. They were able to accommodate us and change to 530pm dining. We wanted earlier dining to make it to the shows in the evening.

I sailed the Oasis in 2015, and felt it was an awesome ship! But Windjammer was always too crowded, and there was never any good "after hours" complimentary food. We just accepted it, and grumbled while eating crappy pizza in Sorrentos. Besides that, we loved the ship. Then we cruised the NCL Getaway, and were blown away by the complimentary food choices, which included a 24 hour Irish Pub that had a full menu with hot food, and late evening snacks in the buffet every night from 9:30-11:00! Yes, it is a smaller ship, but a beautiful ship, and so, for now, I've left Royal for NCL.

I disagree. It was a wonderful ship and the windjammer was awesome. But I do agree that the places do close down too early for that many people looking for something to do
