Review summary

The Wind was the smallest ship we had been on. This was our fifth cruise, but our first time to Hawaii and the fact that the ship went to Fanning Island a remote island 20 miles north of the equator was fantastic!! This is the only ship that goes there so it was a real treat and a favorite port of call for most of the passengers. Even though the ship is on the smaller size the crew and staff were wonderful.

Ports of call

Nawiliwili, Kauai

Again we had an very informative guide here, the island was beautiful and taking the tour to Waimea Canyon and the boat tour up to the Fern Grotto were well worth it.
Don't Miss: Just go see the island.

Hilo, Hawaii

We had the best tour guide here, even though they were all friendly and informative. We loved swimming with the turtles and fish and were on a very small tour group which made it allot of fun.
Don't Miss: Be sure to snorkel here!

Fanning Island, Kiribati

Other then Maui , this was our favorite port. The place is so remote and looks like Hawaii must have 200 years ago. Beautiful beach, warm water, friendly people, just not there long enough!!
Don't Miss: Don't miss the opportunity to see this island and the people!!

Lahaina, Maui

Even though this was one of our favorite ports we were dissapointed with the tour we were on, the guide was great but the Iao Valley and Tropical Plantation were just ok.
Don't Miss: We enjoyed our day of shopping and taking the trolley around town.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

There was a mix-up with the tour we were on here, so we were rushed. We had the opportunity to get our money back and had we known how rushed we were going to be we would have. Dissaponted in the "Coffee Plantation" they took us too, just a store. But we took a catamaran trip and got to have lunch while watching Spinner dolphins play that made the day a success.

Pros: Loved all the different ports of call

Cons: Cocktail lounges too close together
