Review summary

Completely enjoyed this cruise I prefer this size of ship over the bigger ones that have all that junk on them taking up real estate this is why I say if you go with younger people they would enjoy the bigger ships with all that stuff on them to keeps families busy, if you want a nice relaxing ship with no slides, no outdoor kids area this ship is it, but this ship does have a basket ball court and it doesn’t take up much real estate, I also went to the main restaurants and specialty restaurants and o’sheehans to eat, I pretty much stayed away from the cafeteria this is where they kind of dropped the ball the food I found to be quite plain in taste, on this cruise I had a balcony for myself which I really enjoyed but I could easily have gotten an inside cabin since there was always places to sit to relax In the room it was clean and fresh, the only thing I would change is remove the sliding doors in the washroom because there is a main door you don’t really need the sliding see through plastic door between the toilet and sink area, but the bathroom is well laid out

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was very good and the specialties restaurants excellent except for the main restaurant they don’t know how to make French onion soup

Cagney's Steakhouse

5 out of 5

The meals we had were delicious, I had the rib bone in steak and it was so good I wanted to go back for a porter house, but we booked the other specialty restaurants which were also excellent and this restaurant also nailed it with the deserts

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Shows were good and there were hot tubs in different areas also the main pools are outside it seems ncl doesn’t want to have indoor pools like other lines especially when they send ships to cooler areas

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were some of the best you’ll get at sea

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
No real problems most of the staff were great

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Was in dry dock recently and they did a great job, it is more of an adult ship now if you want to bring kids go on the newer bigger ships ncl has, this one they removed the slides and outdoor kids area turned it into an adult retreat

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
After the dry dock the cabin feels fresh and classy, even a place to plug in your phone or iPad at the lights on each side of the bed

Ship tip

This ship is now more of an adult ship, they did a good job when it was in drydock

The ship had mechanical issues so it was a great stay in Spain a few days longer while they worked on the engine and the third night was because of rough seas

Funchal, Madeira Did not visit port

Ship was being worked on in Spain, had a great time in Spain with the extra days so this port was cancelled

Philipsburg, St. Maarten
