Very disappointing

I had traveled with NCL before on the same ship and doing the same itinerary (actually the previous was 10 days this one was 6 days) and I was surprised to see HOW MUCH the qulity had declined. The cabin service was horrendous, we never had the towels we requested, the sheets were bad in fact that 3 people in my party refused to tip the cabin crew. Moreover the inner pool that was free is now ~$80 to use. In addition the entertainment program was almost non-existent, especially for a trip that spends such a long time at sea. Overall compared to other cruise experiences and especially compared to last time (2006) EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. I would not recommend that ship to anyone.

Pros: The food

Cons: The cabin service and the many areas closed off on the ship

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.

Ship Quality
Many areas (~ 1/8 of the ship) closed for servicing which they should do when the ship is docked, not when passengers are traveling
Not enough for the amount of time spent at sea and they were all money-oriented: buy this, buy that...nothing for pure entertainment, learning or pleasure as they used to have years ago (i.e: learning German, making towel decorations...)
Cabin / Stateroom
The cabin itself was fine, the maintenance of it was the problem as stated above.
Service and Staff
Had problems with cabin crew and had to reach the front desk 3 times before any issues were resolved. Overall the staff was organized but not particularly friendly or interested in the well-being of the passengers. Some waiters were VERY NICE and accommodating though.
Food and Dining
Overall the food was very good and varied, and the waiters were nice.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Don't Miss: The malecon
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Don't Miss: The lion cubs on the port, and also the arch.
