Review summary

Menus need updating if they are to be accurate & NOT misleading. In Le Bistrot: there was NOT a chèvre croquette on the chèvre salad, just some bread cubes with a honey/goat cheese spread (gag!) Also instead of RACK of lamb, there were two chops like those served in Cagneys. In the main dining room: the Caesar salad had NO white anchovies, but quite dark brown ones. Not the promised more refined quality. And the Bananas Foster came with raw bananas floating in cold caramel sauce. Waited 20 minutes for properly sautéed warm bananas. There is a way to quietly clear tables without clanging all the dishes: teach the bussers ! BRING EARPLUGS. There is a lot of noise in the public areas.

Embarkation

Slow but steady. Lines were long.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Slipping a bit on higher-end offerings in the main dining room & specialty restaurants but excelling at theme nights in the big buffet.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the sauna and steam room. Sometimes ambient music around the ship is VERY loud, especially during boarding.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some better than others. LOVED the aerialists on the last night.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They did the best they could under sometimes strained circumstances.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Fine overall. Wish the library was further from the front lounge: too much loud music/noise.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Here's where the issues start: they put me in a room (#9202) compromised by a loud engine on the other side of the main wall, with quaking bed and floors. Too noisy and too much vibrating for sleep or rest. Given quiet room below deck to sleep at night. Four days later: moved to a normal balcony room: no more shuttling. Lovely at last ! Room #9202 should be de-commissioned and converted to a storage room. Charging money for it is a travesty.

Ship tip

Enjoy walking on the teak decks.
