The Spirit is an older, smaller ship with a lively, engaged crew and a decent itinerary. Even with weather issues, we had a great time. The entertainment crew are lively and genuinely interested in helping you have a good time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in the main dining room is the same as the additional charge options except that you get additional steak choices in Cagney's and French food choices in Le Bistro, etc. If you order French onion soup, it is EXACTLY the same soup in Le Bistro as it is in the buffet. Avoid La Trattoria... it is no luxury dining experience. You have a partition between you and the kitchen.... the food options are not especially interesting and the service is really poor. Cagney's and Le Bistro were worth the upcharge, though.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Bingo is outrageously expensive and the payout is extremely low. Cannot imagine why you would want to pay $50 for a playing card that has a payout of $200.
Trivia is often scheduled in Henry's Pub which is too small to fit the crowd...the room becomes noisy and uncomfortable.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Worst magician ever..... the rest of the shows were entertaining and worth your time.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Didn't have young kids but when I saw the kids on the boat in the programs, everyone seemed to be having fun.

Cabin / Stateroom
We had an inside but our steward, Joseph treated us like with had a luxury suite. The room itself is surprisingly spacious and the two of us had no problems navigating around the room and storing all our stuff. Not so sure how well everything would work out if there were three of us.
Ship tip
For a quiet spot to sit and read, try Deck 7 Starboard side. You are in the shade and Henry's Pub and the coffee bar are steps away when you need your drink replenished. Oh, and buy the beverage package. There are very few drinks that are not covered in the package, including wine at dinner.
