Review summary

Just got back from Boston-Bermuda Aug 28-Sept 4. Went with 2 small kids and both sets of grandparents. Great time had by all. The kid program was very helpful to let the kids be kids when we had downtime at sea. They also loved the pirate pool and baby pool. Great choices for them at dinner too. Everyone is very accomodating. Highly recommend that you know what venues are above, below your stateroom. We had 6571 cabin, below Henry's Pub. Let's just say that the people doing karaoke had a great time until about 1-2 am. NOT a good room for people turning in early. We were able to switch our room to 9015-perfect. Also, recommend you bring an umbrella for the sun, not only rain. Waiting in lines for ferries and just walking Bermuda, it will get very hot and not much shade, shelter. Need stroller for kids who will get tired of walking-ours was so helpful. The Spirit was a very nice ship. Not like Princess or Royal Caribbean, but good for the convenience of leaving from Boston. So easy and smooth. No airport and hassle. We walked off with our luggage, rather than having them take it for you. No problems at all.

Freestyle is great, especially with small kids. We always got there for 5-6pm and had no trouble. Made reservations in the main rooms b/c of our large group. Eating later, you will sometimes have a wait, especially days at sea when everyone is on the boat.

Entertainment

Kids program is wonderful. Secure and safe. I am not the type of parent to do these things, but the kids needed it and the staff is wonderful. All 20 yo's, nice young adults. The shows were great. Onboard activities not all that great. You will have downtime with nothing to do, but that's okay!

If you have small kids and have extra money-get the window! I felt like we needed it. Got a bit stir-crazy at times, even being there a short time each day. Having it be dark all the time, I think affected the kids not knowing it was morning, etc. Didn't give the day a good jump start. Beds very comfortable. It is small in a regular stateroom, but doable.
