Really enjoyed our second time on the Sky. We probably wouldn’t take another 3-day cruise on the Sky (once was enough), but if they offered a week itinerary to interesting ports we would definitely go as the service really was excellent and the ship super clean. Would recommend it.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was very good in the main dining room and specialty restaurants and fine in the buffet. We went to the MDR for lunch twice, dinner twice, and breakfast once. We were fortunate to have the same servers each time and they took great care of us, remembered us each time we returned as well as dietary restrictions, and were very attentive. As a diabetic, I was also happy to see they had added a “sugar free” dessert item each night for dinner. In the past this has been hit or miss. Our service in Cagney’s was also excellent! I had a tuna poke appetizer that was fantastic! Buffet was a bit limited in options but quality was fine. The one major bummer was not many food options after 8:30 other than the Local… buffet normally shut down rather early so late night snacks not as easy as on the Joy and Jade.
Onboard Activities

Plenty of hot tubs and sun loungers. Daytime organized activities were a bit sparse but we were in port 2 or 3 days so I’m sure that impacted things a bit.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
One area we were a bit bummed about was the entertainment. There was only one big show a night in the theater and only at 9pm. As we are more morning people, we never ended up catching a show. We are used to having an early and a late option here and missed that. However, there were some excellent music options at night so we caught the rock band Sonata twice and really enjoyed their performances.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The ship was always super clean, and the cruise ship staff were always friendly and helpful. Staffing was excellent! Almost as good as before the shutdown and service was really top notch at restaurants and bars. Some of the best service we have had on a cruise.
Ship Quality

We were previously on NCL Sky back in 2018 and had a good time so when we saw it was headed for a major refurbishment and update in early 2024, we started looking for deals and found a great one for an early May 3 day cruise. Having just cruised NCL Joy, one of their new ships, and NCL Jade in the summer, we were super impressed that all of the public areas and even cabins were updated to match the aesthetic and décor of the newer ships and really transformed the Sky to look and feel more like a new ship than the Jade which still had much of the more classic design elements
Cabin / Stateroom

Small but functional. Updated with USB charging ports either side of the bed which was nice.
Very quiet compared to Coco Cay which you can see across the water. But we enjoyed a nice beach day. Everything is in pristine condition with plenty of sun loungers we found it easy to find our own quiet spaces. Plenty of themed bars (drink package works here). Food was good. We are ate at Abaco Taco which is a nice change up from the traditional beach cookout buffet that they also had available.
We hadn’t been to Nassau since 2019 so we were quite impressed with the new modern cruise port. Once outside the port gates though many vendors approaching it seemed like every 30 seconds… felt perfectly safe but was slightly annoying. Was some good shopping to be had.
Very useful positive but honest review. I am sailing her a second time next Thursday. I, too, wouldn't seek this ship out. However, the itinerary and dates worked for me.
