Review summary

My friends and I had a great time being together and the ship and our staterooms were beautifully clean and comfortable. However, we were extremely disappointed in some aspects of the overall cruise: The food, the food service, and the staff were subpar overall.

With the exception of the sushi bar, which was EXCELLENT, the food on this ship was disappointing. The food service in the restaurants (including specialty dining) was exceptionally SLOW and frequently the dishes that we received were not the ones we ordered.

My previous experiences with NCL included incredibly friendly and helpful staff. On this most recent cruise, however, this was not the case. The majority of the staff we interacted with were not personable at all: They were UNfriendly and off-putting, and this had a major, negative impact on our overall experience.

Our cabin was extremely comfortable and was always impeccably clean. Our room steward was terrific and he did excellent work.

Ship tip

This is a small ship that does not have many of the "bells and whistles" of others in the NCL fleet. If you are planning to stay aboard the ship rather than take shore excursions, think twice about the Sky.
