Review summary

Before you leave your ship be sure you have transport information. You may miss your flight. I was able to visit the Martin Luther King and Malcolm X monument. I do not think they are part of any excursion. I heard about but did not visit a monument to President Lincoln. The US dollar was worth less than the Cuban dollar, yet many merchants asked for the US dollar. I enjoyed my cruise. I would go again on Norwegian. I would have rather arrived at about 10AM and left by 2PM the next day. Not everyone could use the 11PM to 7AM time in Havana. Other sites also offer approved excursion. Be selective if you chose not to us the Norwegian ones.

Be sure to read all of the information on your trip from the airport to the ship. The meeting place is not the easiest place to find nor was it close to my airline (United). The staff was helpful after I found it. I think that is true about most cruises airport meeting spots. Hurry and wait

We could get free alcoholic drink, but I do not drink alcoholic drinks. I want a can of soda that I could enjoy in my cabin. Free alcohol but we had to pay for water.

I had cabin 8251. My steward was exceptional. The space was what I expected. I was alone but I felt safe.

Do take an early morning excursion. Use the remainder of the time to visit more places. I only ate on the ship. It seems the US has caused many food and drink shortages with our embargo.

Disembarkation

I had to stand in line on a hot concrete walkway that had a minimum amouth of shade, in the hot Miami heat for hours. I had no place to sit and I was not offered anything to drink. I paid for the transfer package to and from Miami airport, as did hundred of others. Yet Norwegian did not have the transports available when we docked. They also did not inform us of the long wait and conditions we would have to endure after leaving the boat. It there were transport problems ( and there were problems) we should have had the option of waiting on board until they were resolved. Instead we were asked to leave the A/C and seating options of the ship. I to pay for carfare to MIA because I was afraid of missing my flight and I was uncomfortabely hot.
