We wont ever cruise on this ship again. Might try one of the larger NCL ships one day, but my wife and I both realized how much we love Royal Caribbean!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
the fastest embarkations we have ever experienced
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The ship was small, but I already expected that. But my balcony room was smaller than the ones on Royal Caribbean we have stayed in. As far as dining, the food in the main dining room was pretty good, but not amazing ... but the worse part was how long it took. every night, dinner took over 2 hours! we thought about eating at the buffet, but didnt want hot dogs and hamburgers. Best part of the cruise was that drinks are included, and they were made well, not watered down at all.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
activities were on par with what i expected from a small ship. not really enough pool space though, it could use a secondary pool, even if its a small one. fitness center was pretty small as well compared to those on previous ships we've been on.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
shows and stuff were ok as well ... nothing amazing though. just the basic itinerary of played out events like battle of the sexes and not so newlywed interactive games.
the DJ at the Glow party was awesome!
Children's Programs
didnt bring any kids with us
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
for the most part, our experience was good with the staff on board. steward was awesome, starbucks girl was very attentive, bartenders were fast and greeted everyone well. only negative was again the wait staff in the main dining room ... they were just very slow and not as friendly and engaging as the rest.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
ship had just been renovated a few months before we sailed ... everything was clean and fresh. we didnt like the layout so much, but thats mainly because of the larger ships we have been on in the past that have more room for better layout. Elevators were very small as well.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
wish it was a foot wider at least. had to walk sideways between end of bed and wall. desk area is a lot smaller than previous ships we've been on. wasnt a fan of the single door + port window to balcony, we like the double sliding doors on the Royal Caribbean balconies. Bathroom was pretty tight, but they all are unfortunately. Bed was rock hard, wish i had a mattress topper with me.
Cuba is amazing ... it was our first time there. Lots to see and learn. My only negative is that we didnt see any night life on the streets of Cuba like we expected. it is dead quite out there. we found out later that at night you have to go to either the Tropicana Club or some of the major hotels that have stuff going on in the lobby, but those are government owned and frowned upon by the US to be visited to.
this was a pretty boring island. only fun thing to do is the jet ski rental, but it was all booked up and very expensive. they have a zipline tower that was already completed earlier this year, but for some reason it was closed. the beach is nice, water is clear and tons of fish swimming around you. they serve food and drinks that come off the ship, basically hot dogs and hamburgers, grilled chicken and rice and fruits. they also have a taco bar that was absolutely disgusting! all in all, I wish I had just stayed on the ship. this would be an ok stop if the cruise itinerary stopped at 2 other major ports/countries ... its basically just a Havana cruise.
the absolute fasted disembarkation any of us have ever experienced! we did a homeland facial scan just before we came off the ship ... after that it was just a short walk through the terminal straight to the curb. no customs check, no lines, no declarations.
