Review summary

This cruise would be great for younger folks who want to drink and party for a weekend. I had never been on a cruise so thought that booking a short cruise would be a good idea, and I did learn a lot about whether or not cruising is for me (it is, with some conditions). The room switching debacle was preventable with some forethought by NCL, and if you're going to move someone to another room at 10:30 at night, you better upgrade them, not downgrade. I don't see myself booking another NCL cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet food was typical, kind of warm and overcooked. The regular restaurants were great.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were packed, lots of kids in adult pools, and adults had taken over kid's pools.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The live music was great. Theater was small and hard to get into before it was full.

Children's Programs

No small kids

Service and Staff

Waiters were great, never met our room steward, other ship personnel were very helpful.

Ship Quality

I wish there were more outside spaces other than the pool decks, but this is a small ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
We booked an inside guarantee room and were given 8117, which is an ADA/wheelchair compliant room. Neither of us were in need of an ADA room, but we were enjoying the large space! At 9:30pm, we got a call from the crew that another passenger w/a wheelchair was booked into a regular room and were in need of our ADA room, and would we mind moving? Well, we really couldn't say we won't move when someone else truly needs the room THEY assigned us, so at 10:30, after we repacked our belongings, they moved us to one of their smallest inside staterooms. They did comp us a free meal in a specialty restaurant, but their lack of insight into booking a guarantee passenger into an ADA room was more than annoying, and being moved to the smallest of staterooms was kind of insulting. Even the cabin steward commented on how small our new room was compared to the original. We are not happy with how it was handled.

Ship tip

This is a great ship if you want to drink a lot for free and party all the time. Not so much for first time cruisers who want a short cruise to see if they would like it.

Miami was wonderful, so multicultural and you cannot beat the weather!

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

The weather was stormy and the tender boats were not able to be used

Nassau, Bahamas

We had booked an excursion but it was cancelled. We ended up taking a tour with a local taxi driver and enjoyed our tour of Nassau and Paradise.
