Cuba is a very interesting Caribbean country. Americans should take advantage of the ability to visit and learn more about this nation. Havana is scenic; the residents are friendly and well-educated; the history is fascinating; and those 1950's cars are everywhere!

Food and Dining

We generally avoided the buffets, except for infrequent snacks during the day. Main dining rooms were painfully slow at every breakfast. For example, one person in our party only wanted cold cereal and the bowl of cereal was brought and it sat there until the hot entrees arrived. A spoon and small pitcher of milk was brought when the other people at our table got their entrees. Just weird...this happened more than once during the week. We ate at Cagney's one night - it's one of our favorite specialty restaurants.

Cruise Director 'Philly' Joel was wonderful - he is very talented and was integrated into numerous production numbers. Really enjoyed comedian Keith Bender and production numbers featuring Gina and Lucy.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was OK in size for 2 adults, but it would have been really tight with one more person (our cabin had a pull-out sofa bed). Storage (ie. drawers and shelves) was not as generous as many of the newer NCL ships. Our cabin could use some updating, now that the common areas of the Sky have been updated. A note sent to the Hotel Director re: a broken outlet was handled quickly and efficiently. The outlet was repaired within 24 hours.
We walked around on our own, took a bus tour as well as a walking tour and had drinks at a cafe and then dinner at an outdoor restaurant. Havana was a total surprise in so many ways... very safe, beautiful and tragically neglected architecture, friendly but poor residents, lots of stray dogs and cats. This was a 'bucket list' destination and it didn't disappoint.
