Review summary

Norwegian should offer passengers compensation for the missed day in Stirrup Cay and so far they are only offering refund of the port fee. What a joke.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Our embarkation experience was good. However, we had to wait an hour to get into our rooms.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food on the ship was okay. The menu selections were not as varied as other ships.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pool was small and overcrowded.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment was adequate for the length of the cruise.

Children's Programs

No children in our party

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service was good and the wait staff was very friendly and professional.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship is older and small. Not as many amenities as some of the newer ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
There was only one night stand in the room and it was not on the side with the outlet. Fortunately we had an extension cord for the CPAP but we had to sit it on the love seat instead of the night stand.

Ship tip

It is small ship with a small pool and jacuzzi area. When we were not able to get off the ship in the Bahamas, it was too crowded on the poor deck to really enjoy the pool or the jacuzzi.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
South beach was awesome.

HAVANA, CUBA

5 out of 5
It was an honor and a privilege to visit Cuba. The tour of the Cigar factory was eye-opening and just being able to set foot in the country was incredible.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

The ship was not able to go to this port due to an oil spill that occurred in Cuba.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We were able to quickly disembark from the ship.

Refunding the port fee is probably more than they really have to do.

That is common practice with the cruiselines. Missing ports isn't terribly uncommon. It is part of cruising; being flexible and having a good attitude can help overcome the disappointment. And as Katievp said, this is all in your cruise contract.

Pretty sure that's covered very well in the contract you agreed to.

Happens quite often, they won't stop when the sea conditions aren't suitable... not only a Norwegian thing... It's all covered in the terms and conditions..
