Review summary

This was a great trip. The only negative thing that I can say happened before we boarded the ship. First of all, let me tell you that I am in the hospitality business. I understand people make a living off of making tips. I don't like people telling me to tip them without having done anything for me to start with. As we exited the airport to port transfer, we were met by a man who started to take our bags to be placed on the ship. He said you can tip me now which put a bad taste in my mouth so I responded that my tips were already included in the price of my trip. He immediately dropped my bag and told someone else to help me. If he would have done what he is paid to do to start with without telling me to tip him, I would have.

The food was great! My husband said he wished that they would have had shrimp in the main dining rooms or buffets.

The musicians were great! There was a variety of music, something for everyone. We played bingo and deal or no deal, it was fun.

We noticed on the wall several pictures of the ships staff. My husband, being from Nicaragua noticed that the Executive Housekeeper was also from Nicaragua. We asked if we could speak to him and one of the staff members called him. She told us that he was busy and would be in touch with us. We gave her our cabin number but thought that would be the end of that. To our surprise, he showed up to our room. That small but significant gesture made my husbands day.

We did the tour around town and the submarine ride. Unfortunately, it was not worth the money. The tour was a total disappointment and the submarine ride would be great for children.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

We rode the wave runners here for the first time, it was an adventure. It would have been better if they had transportation to the water, it was about a 10 minute walk in the sand.

Let's cruise again ... we are going on this ship in 7 days first time on anything but Carnival.... anything you can tell me about this ship would be of help thank you.... we cruise on Carnival a lot and wanted to try a different line.... This was one of my husband bucket list place to go and Carnival goes there but this line had a better deal... so we are ssssoooo looking forward to this... I feel Carnival has let a lot of People down and did away with a lot of perks so we are going to try someone else... thanks for listening and any information would be greatly appreciated.....

Letscruiseagain it was an honest mistake on your part seeing as though you didn't know he wasn't a part of the cruise line and we have all been in that place!!! Now you know for the future!!! 😊

The porters don't work for the cruise line. They work for the port. Not a penny you paid for your cruise would go to him. So I can understand him not wanting to take your bags. I hope you tipped whoever ended up taking your bags or I would say your lucky they made it to your room. Yes he didn't go about it the right way but neither did you.
