Review summary

Overall it was a great cruise and we enjoyed ourselves. Cuba was what expected, a third world communist country. The people were nice but the constant begging and panhandling deterred us from going back onshore. I feel absolutely terrible for those people and I handed out a lot of money, but that's not fair to us either. Great stirrup cay was very nice, but don't waste money on the clam shell mini cabanas. The ship and "freestyle" cruising was fantastic. I hope they expand that program. I'd be happy to spend a few dollars more on our fare and have "open" bar.

Embarkation

Smooth and easy. The staff in the terminal could've been a tad more cheery. They seemed like they didn't want to be on the boat. That all changed as soon as we got onboard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the buffet selections were kinda sparse and boring as compared to other cruise ships I've been on, but the main dining room and Cagney's were both magnificent. The bar staff was excellent from start to finish.

Onboard Activities

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

I live here so hooray for Florida!

HAVANA, CUBA

2 out of 5
Was panhandled from the moment we stepped off until we got back on. I understand that Cuba is a poor Communist country, but I think I handed more $ out to the beggars than I did on any other thing. I feel horrible for these people and helped out the best I could, but it took away from trying to learn the history and culture of the island.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

3 out of 5
The island was great. The clam shell mini cabanas are not worth $35, especially when we were given one with no meshing that didn't breathe at all. It felt like 115 degrees in the clam shell, and when we complained about it we just got shrugs.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and easy.
