Review summary

Great value for money. This was first time on this ship with open bar and the drunk people we encountered in several areas tainted our experience a bit, but we'd still sail the Sky again. Fabulous crew.

Embarkation

Embarkation was smooth--someone from the ship had a quick contest-- people who answered first were allowed to board earlier. The rest of us boarded quickly and smoothly.

Food and Dining

The main dining room (Crossings) on Norwegian Sky was very nice. Great food and attentive service. The buffet was great for breakfast and ok for lunch. I wish there were more variety at lunch.

Onboard Activities

We swam in the pool until the people who overindulged on the open bar filled it with their drinks and saliva. A totally drunk older guy poured two beers into his mouth at once at pool's edge with the rest of it running down his body into the water. Others poured their free beer directly into the water. I'm not a prude, but that was gross. The guy and someone else then pulled their swim suits halfway down and off and twirled them around over their head while in the water.

Entertainment

The musical portion of entertainment was top rate. Singing and dancing fabulous. The comedian was so-so. She didn't have much of her own material and launched too quickly into improv stuff with the audience that went on way too long. Just my opinion.

Our kids are 18 and 14 and chose to hang out with us.

Service and Staff

Our server Gordon, in Crossings restaurant was wonderful and friendly. Our cabin steward--Darwin, could not have been nicer and was friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

Everything was well maintained and clean. Our suggestion would be to not allow actual glass wine glasses anywhere near the pools. A woman walking by kicked a wine glass of someone in the pool, broke it and the adults only pool had to be emptied to drain and remove broken glass shards. This along with the liquor filled main pool was not cool.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very comfortable, nice unobstructed ocean view. We've now had ocean view, inside, and balcony. Balcony is our favorite but I'll do an inside room if I can cruise more often! You aren't in your room that much.
