Review summary

Cuba itself was nice. Very interesting..But.. If you're looking for a nice mid range cruise.. This is NOT the one. We called this ship the S.S. Minnow.. The boat is old and very outdated. We booked a top deck balcony room. Thinking it would be nice. It was so tiny we didn't even have room to unpack. I felt sorry for the room attendant.There wasn't any room to clean.although he did a good job for what he had to work with. The balcony would of been nice..but they were scraping and repainting the ship two days we were docked. Paint chips flying everywhere.

The food was the same every day.. breakfast was good. Lunch and Dinner was horrible. So bad we ordered room service off the kids meal. The staff was friendly but for the money the over all cruise was not worth it. Wait until a different cruise line goes to Cuba.. You'll be happy you did.

This ship is old. Cabins are tiny..bathroom is walk in back out. Don't plan on unpacking. There is one drawer and a very tiny closet with 6 hangers and no counter/ dresser to even stack your folded clothes on. Tv.. didn't work half the time. We asked if someone could look at it.. No one ever did. The bed was comfortable..is the only good thing going for the room.

Ship tip

Save your money!!! This cruise is WAY over priced for what you get. We were looking forward to a great cruise to Cuba.. Wait for another cruise line to pick up the Cuba destination. Cuba itself was amazing.. very educational. Cuban people were so friendly. Old cars were beautiful!!

We just went on a Cuba cruise in May & loved it so much we are already booked again for the same cruise in August! We cruise a lot and it was fantastic. No complaints. The casino was actually paying out for a few people and one lucky guy won $20k on a $2max penny machine during our cruise. The only small downside is that their casino craps table is too expensive with a $25 minimum bet. It would be nicer if it was a $10 minimum bet for people to play longer. Getting on and off the ship was very well organized. Free drinks was fun considering there was a group of 9 people :). Cagney steakhouse was good. Dessert was excellent there. Only small disappointment is they do not serve lobster anymore on the ship. I love surf and turf in the steakhouse. Cuba is changing fast and it was so amazing. You cannot explain the wonderful experience in Cuba in words alone. You have to really see it firsthand. You will not regret it. Overall VERY happy with this cruise! Highly recommend to book Cuba fast as the landscape is already changing fast. We loved the people there. Cannot wait to go back in two months. Worth every cent.

this ship definitely needs updating. I was in a room with a torn up couch. very old ship. Food in MDR was horrible.

Apparently they were adults WITH kids so of course the room will seem small. I have also travel on the Sky. Although it was like 8 or 9 years ago, I have only great memories.

I find this post very strange. I was just on the Sky in December and totally with just about everything. The ship is not one of the new monster cruise ships but it is far from being one of the smallest cruise ships in operation. I also had a balcony room and I had loads of room to unpack and had enough room to hang clothing and place sundries on shelves. I never witnessed the cleaning staff have trouble cleaning my cabin. My cabin was always clean and comfortable. I am confused by the complaints about the food also. The food in the MDR was not the same every day and it was quite good in my experience. I found the ship and crew to be very good and would cruise on this ship again. I have been on several cruises on several different cruise lines and this ship favorably compares to any other I have been on. In my case I found my cruise to be well worth the money I spent to take the cruise. I have to totally disagree with the original post and say you do not have to wait for another cruise line to go to Cuba , this ship is a very good option! Just to shut up certain individuals I would like to say ,I do not work for NCL. I say that because on this site some individuals seem to think that any reply to a post that is contradictory to the original negative post must be from an employee of the cruise line.
