Review summary

The communication on this ship was very bad. We didn't receive the itinerary for the following day until the night before so that didn't leave much time for planning with others. Also, there were no lists of the common items on the ship like where the guest services were, what restaurants the all inclusive included, etc. We ate at the cafe every day and the food was so tasteless and gave us stomach aches each night. The breakfast was the only good thing and we stuck to pastries, bagels and fruit.

We were on the "4 day, 3 night" but technically it was 3 day, 3 night because the ship was back at the Miami port at 8:00 am the 4th day and we had to be gone be 9:00 am.

We had two days on islands; one day per island. One is their private island and one is a public island (Nassau). We were going to have rainy weather on one of the two days so Norwegian decided to switch the days we were going to be at the islands where we would have good weather on their private island and the rainy weather at Nassau. This was a horrible idea because their private island is a strip of land that only consists of a beach and their food. Nassau had all the excursions we wanted to do including parasailing and Atlantis. The weather was so miserable that we walked around (grumpy) through the stores then went back to the ship. Too windy for the parasailing and too rainy to go to Atlantis on the other end of the island.

There was also a storm the entire way back to Miami. There TWO breaches, that I know of, on the ship where water was gushing into a restaurant on the ship. Not something you want to see on your first cruise.

I will never do it again and definitely not with Norwegian.

It was like a large closet with two twin beds. So incredibly small. I guess they assume we won't be in the rooms...bad guess.

Ship tip

Go for more than their "4 days, 3 nights" in case you have bad weather and have no say in what islands to go to.

Very dirty and poor island. It was uncomfortable.

It's a beach...that's it.

Pro-tip. Don't get wasted the night before you have an 8 am Kayak excursion. That one was not fun. LOL.

Don't give up. Next time do your research and you will see it's not as bad as it seems. My first cruise was in 1988 and I've been Cruising since. I did NCL once and have not been back since. Lots had to do with the service. Like everyone else have been posting, maybe Cruising isn't for you but that all depends on your expectations. Cruising can be the best vacation you'll ever have. That would totally be up to you.

I would have definitely preferred Nassau on the bad weather day. On the private island there are excursions and various parts of the island if you walk.

You cannot blame the cruise line for your incompetence and bad weather. If you wanted to know what was included, you should have asked. The issues that you are complaining about are the same on every ship, every line. Give it another try, just don't go into it completely oblivious to how they work.

It plenary of things to do . It's not free your vacation or trip is what you make it.

Cruising is not for you. Sorry you didn't do better research to see what exactly happens on the ship or checking out the deck plans beforehand. Better luck in your future land based vacations.

Cruising might not be for you, no cruise lines give you the "guide" until the night before. All cruises handle the days/nights the same - you're off the ship before 10 am on all of them so they can be ready for everyone to board at 11. Most cruise lines will either switch the port days or skip them entirely if it's bad weather.

A little bit of research before your cruise would've helped...
