Review summary

This was the worst cruise ship I have ever been on! Terrible food, rude employees, 1 small swimming pool and at the time of my cruise all I had to listen to was the loud noise of construction work being being done right above the swimming pool. Why in the world would you even think that would be relaxing to lay around a small pool listening to the loud sounds of drilling and hammering? I purchased the all inclusive package and I could only eat at 2 of the cafeteria style restaurants. I actually had to pay separately out of pocket to eat some decent food! Then at the end of the cruise I was hit with a 300 bill with extra added charges, cleaning fees, and gratuities which were never mentioned to me when I purchased this trip!!!! My TV did not start working until the very last night of my vacation. So for 3 nights we only had 2 channels we could watch during the duration of the trip! Absolute terrible experience and waste of time I will never recommend this cruise to anyone that I know!

The fine dining Italian restaurant had the nicest staff on the entire cruise ! The rest of the employees could learn a thing or two from them!

I guess everyone can agree or disagree however I think many need to look at your vacation is what you make out of it and if theirs an issue of any sort if its brought to the attention to the crew it's taken care of if you say nothing and just do negative it's on those who didn't make their vacation good I have had nothing but positive experience with ncl

I just went on sky in July....wasn't impressed at all either...n construction was going on on the pool decks while I was there too.

We just got off the sky and had a great experience theirs 2 pools and a family pool in front of ship along with 4 hot tubs plus additional for families the staff were very friendly and they have Buffett and 2 main dining as complimentary and great package deals for the specialities and the television worked perfectly fine with more than 2 channels however we only use deck cam in evening to see where we are We love NCL cruised 4 times going on 5 in April

Well I have been on the sky and there are a few restaurants included besides the Buffett ....u say u purchased the all inclusive ....the entire ship is all inclusive ncl ski just started that early this year cause we were on in last Nov and we were informed that the sky was going to do that....far as only having a few channels ....I have 1 question for u....u are on a cruise so y on earth are u sitting in your room wanting to watch tv..u can do that at home....added charges well obviously you have never cruised cause that is the norm ...u can pay them in advance or at the end of your trip , thinking you need to do some homework before you travel cause that's on you my friend just because you are on a vacation you still need to have some responsibility for your self

The worst cruise ship you have ever been on is it? According to your profile it's the only cruise ship you have been on. If it was as bad as you say there would be dozens of people on here complaining, but there is only you. Could it be you are just disgruntled about something?

Yes it about 15 channels of normal tv, plus ship channels. If people will do there homework we will not see this kind of comments.

*NBC not S.

Nope. We had all 3 major stations NBS, CBS, ABC. We had 3 different channels that played movies. I know we had 2 different CNN channels, don't remember if we had Fox. I'm pretty sure we had ESPN because I think I remember my husband watching Sports Center one morning. We also had the ship channels that play on loop and the of course the channel that shows your location and speed.

My comment would be why did you only eat in the buffets?? There are a multitude of options for eating on a cruise ship. The gratuities are in print in the cruise documents that you recieved. So being upset about those things is not the cruise lines fault. Without being on the ship and your reference to the pool area being under construction, who knows what was going on. I have been on numerous cruises and there is always some sort of maintenance being done on the ship. I'm sure they did their best to minimalize the impact on the guests. Maybe cruising isn't for you.

Wow that is a lot of channels. Katievp. We've only ever had 2 that actually showed a movie or TV show. All the other channels had to do with the ship.

Katievp    8 years ago

We had probably 15+ channels on the Carnival Dream. Gratuities are standard though.

badlcho    8 years ago

Most cruise lines automatically charge gratuaties. It should have been on the website when you booked the cruise or your travel agent should have told you. I have never sailed NCL but Carnival charges $12 per day per passenger for gratuities so I would imagine Norwegian would be similar. Also most of the time there are only 2 TV channels that show movies or kids shows on the TVs because you are at sea and not in your room much.
