Overall the cruise was good. It could have been much worse, but also lots of room for improvement.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Great, no issues getting on.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Speciality restaurants were excellent, we dined at Onda, Palomar, Cagneys and Nima. The main dining rooms were great for breakfast and lunch but struggled at dinner. Buffet was significantly smaller than Breakaway class ships and packed. Indulge food hall was a fun concept but the food was pretty cultured for even my taste.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pool on the main deck was small, and we were unable to get into the speedway due to reservation times.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Entertainment in the Prima theater was good, we saw 2 comedy shows that were funny and the Donna Summer Musical which was great too. We didn't even attempt the comedy club or syd normans due to it always being full.
Children's Programs
Leave the kids at grandmas!
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We had some FANTASTIC service and some horrible service. Either staff was engaged and ready to assist or completely turned off and not happy to be there. This negativity only affected us twice but was memorable.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Beautiful ship, but the venues really need to hold more capacity.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
5750 was a nice cabin. You are close to the boarding door on port days, so the DJ made it hard to nap. Otherwise it was quiet at night and during sea days.
Ship tip
Norwegin Prima is a great ship for a first time cruiser, but a more experienced cruiser may find that an older class of Norwegians lineup would be a better fit.
We enjoyed the Prima, the food was wonderful. We did not use the pool in Europe due to cooler weather. Other Ncl ships work better in the Carribbean.
I recommend the Prima because we had a blast and could not think of any we didn't love.
